Does this game have the same grand strategy elements between battles that Field of Glory Empires had?

Good guide.
I really hoped that the game would be about holding the line, and I miss that a bit when after a few round units are everywhere on the battlefield, one unit routed and the other pursuing routed enemies. Doesn't make sense.

You can pick a campaign with mostly heavy infantry as those don't have evasion. Spearman or pikemen also have an ability to hold formations.

Very good explainations, but with one exception ... the board containd NO "hexes"! It's made of "scares". ;)
