I find it amazing how humble kurt is after the success hes had. Dude is awesome person i feel.
Kurt seems very quiet but engaged here, like he’s genuinely interested in learning about the topic instead of just hearing himself talk. I assume he’s a very humble guy, which is impressive for someone as accomplished as him.
Sounded like he was the annoying guy in porn making “oh yeah” moaning noises when you only want to hear the girl 😂
But that aside, you’re right.
He’s stoned

Man, Joe speaking the truf. People love to hate on Conor but the cold hard reality is that he's delaying the comeback because he's hitting walls in his recovery and is trying to get it figured out so that he doesn't come back just to get killed (physically and reputationally). Look at Wideman's fight - that was '100%" post leg break and his leg couldn't take much. Recovering from that type of trauma takes a long time if you can do it at all
Weidman leg injury was far worse then conor. Conor had the least damaging break compared to Chris n Silva.
@@tomwilson5721that’s not the point
@@tomwilson5721 All three men had the exact same fractures and the two bones involved was the Tibia and Fibula. They all had the exact same injury the scans are also near identical. A break in that part of the leg is bad, there is no "this person broke that bone but this person broke it worse" scenario.
@@tomwilson5721and who are you to judge?
What matters is how low or high all those breaks are, higher the better relative to lower
ufc moves so quick... fighters here today gone tomorrow
Sounds like life to me
Then when fighters win and play hardball to get paid properly, and Dana spouts his usual bullshit acting like they're "scared" to fight, a lot of fans take Dana's side. Idiots just want to see "fighter's fight", but don't care that they could get f'd up at any time and have to retire broke.
That's life
Makes jones even more of a legend
Kurt is a good listener. He let's you complete the sentence
He didn't have a choice. Joe wouldn't shut his mouth during the whole podcast which was a shame cuz I wanted to hear from Kurt
Anderson Silva snapped his leg in half at 38 years old. The fact that he came back and continued to fight the top fighters in the world into his late 40s just shows how special he is.
My brother in Christ, I love Anderson but that was only possible with him taking various performance enhancing substances. Conor in all likelihood is taking the same route though with more stringent testing regulations I doubt he will fight more than once or twice in the UFC again
Nothin wrong with using performance enhancers to come back off an injury a lot sooner
I mean USADA literally came out and vindicated him after they did their own third party testing but yeah even if he did take something I don't blame him. That is an extremely devastating injury especially at that age. He still came back and continued to fight against the top contenders in his late 40s and never tested positive again. That alone is impressive. Don't try to discredit how special Silva is.@@claya.bishop5356
@@Josh_you_uhthat’s steroids and only pussies uses that. And that also makes u a bitch for supporting it
There will never be another anderson
His prime was not 2 years ago. Leg break or not. He had been losing, been getting slower, had been drinking. Now he’s steroided up and probably coked up. He’s got nothing to give the top tier guys. He may have one or two fights in him. A Diaz fight would be cool but other than that…?

McGregor's problem isn't just the leg brake. On top of that it's his lifestyle and his lack of drive to fight again.
I had the same injury, years later had the plates and screws removed… still couple screws lost in my bone and cant be removed… it’s not easy to recover from. I think i’ve recovered better than most.
Hey Joe , just a little bit of information . After a break like that there is a procedure that’s called a BMP . It stands for ( and I hope I get the spelling correct ) Bone Morphogenic Protein . I had this for a disc fixing operation . The doctor explained it as “ It’s like spackle for bone healing ) . It’s,atleast when I had it done expensive . It doesn’t make the bone heal faster , but it does make it heal stronger . It was actually developed for long bone repair .
Correct but doesn't it then cause vulnerabilities in the areas either side of the now stronger area
@@chadwalkaden6375 no not really as the break was what was being repaired and it would have broken at the weaker place . In my case it’s to build up the disc , because of uneven wear . It was explained to me this way but a bit more intricately !
After having the EXACT same injury as Connor.. i can confidently say he is never gonna be the same. 2 years since mine and it will never be 100% .Titanium rod screwed top of shin and above ankle. Any slight knock it sends a shock up my bone. Grim as fuck
I had mine break in soccer 10 years ago, im 33 now and i still have issues with ankle flexibility and dorsiflexion. Did you have any ankle issues? Nerve issues?
3 and a 1/2 years in here, same injury.. Definitely will never be 100%.. the one thing Conor had that we didn’t was some very good “supplements” which I know can dramatically help that healing process.. but my gut tells me not 100% still haha

Broke my ankle 6mo. Ago. Plate and lots of screws. Physiotherapist told me it will be at least a year before I even feel normal. Just the other day I JUST hit bottom in my air squats. I’ll be shocked if Connor comes back and can fight. Holds half your weight in a few cm of surface area

"If anybody can do it, it's gonna be Conor. If anybody can come back from that and do it again it's gonna be Conor" Joe feeding the UFC promo guys a soundbite right there.
The pain of being kicked on that thing will be devestating.
I just don't see how he can fight with such an easy target, it will throw his entire focus off starting to watch out for his leg and get blasted to the head while he's worrying about the leg.
You don’t come back from a compound fracture/break. The bones that are stabilized within metal plates and pins aren’t the same. They’re sensitive and weak to the touch. They ache, they throb and they can’t take a hit without pain and it’s an encompassing pain that takes you to your knees.
If anyone can handle that pain, it’s McGregor. It seems he has an insane pain tolerance.
not for superstar athletes. they get hormones, platelets, stem cells, cutting edge shit normal people don't have access too. The issue is pro athletes with these type of injurgies are usually in their early to mid thirties so by the time they can come back they're old
i broke leg in 4 places, after 8 years it still doesnt feel the same and sometimes i feel a pain when i walk for too long

I'm sorry but you'll never be the same, no one is after these types of injuries. Wish you the best.
Imagine if Brock Lesnar started mma outta college

Honestly lesnar probably would have been the same. Despite what people like Joe say, Brock was not a great amatuer wrestler. He was just way bigger than most guys (and was roided to the gills) so he was able to bully alot if them around on the mat.
When he won his NCAA title thr guy he wrestled in the finals was 220lbs. Brock was 275lb. His match with Stephen Neal is even on youtube.

@@used_tissue3536 good call 👍🏻
I heard about Frank Mir's injury but I never knew how severe it was. Goddamn ! 🤣
All it’s gonna take is that one guy to comeback from an injury like that and become champion and then everyone else will see that it’s possible, then the injury won’t seem as bad anymore.
The mind is very powerful, once it believes that something is possible and is convinced that it will be done, there is nothing stopping the mind from manifesting it into reality.
Right, and let’s take into account Joe is talking to a man that won an Olympic gold medal with a broken freakin neck!
If kurt can do it with a broken freaking neck then conor can do it with a broken freaking leg
Kurt also took painkillers and forced himself to perform the way he did. Also he mentioned that he could barely move without taking them.. so yeah not the best advice. And yeah to compare a broken neck to a body part you literally need to move and 10x more likely to break is a shitty comparison no offense.
In wrestling you are not allowed to kick a guy in the neck
Kurt also said that he was pounding Vicodin like jelly beans & injecting his neck with Novocain before every match, something tells me UFC won’t let Connor get away with that
Conor was not the same after fighting Khabib. Same goes to Tony - Gaethje. So sad 😅
Anderson was 38 almost 39 when he snapped his leg. He came back a year later with the help of anabolic steroids which is what Conor was probably doing when he was out of the drug test pool.
conors prime was long gone before leg snap
Structural integrity. Once compromised IDC what you do, it’s compromised forever.
I would take growth hormone mk677 and the SARM Ostarine. Plus some Anaver.
Props to Conor. He doesn’t need to come back from a career ending injury to fight, and especially doesn’t need to fight for the money. He’s nowhere near being the GOAT but to say Jones is the GOAT, a guy who is healthy with no excuses has only fought 5 times since 2018.
Kurt angle is awesome never forget his moonsault of the top of the steel cage in TNA onto mr Anderson balls of steel for doing that respect
A broken femur is legally considered a disability.
How do these last minute replacements from different organizations come in without 6 months usada. ?????
Remember breaking my middle leg and I came back strong I'm a real stallion now
At first glance I thought this was one of those AI Rogan episodes, and I thought the thumbnail was two Joe’s
I would think someone like like Connor wants to get back and fight and compete. But man if I had almost a billion dollars I'm chilling with my family. There's no reason to risk physical or mental damage from a fight anymore.

I always wondered the difference between when a fighter snaps his leg and someone like Paul George in the NBA who snapped their leg. Because when George did it they were confident his leg would recover better than ever. And yes he’s not having his leg attached but basketball is a lot of high impact running g and jumping. So I’m curious just how different is it? I thought snapped bones heal stronger usually?
I snapped my tibia and fibula when i was 10 im 37 now and its still not strong enough to play football at a high level i was told i will never play professional football again and they were right i was in hospital for 6 months and had a massive metal frame and metal stuff put in, they told me after if the micro surgery they did didnt work i would of had my leg amputated i hope Connor can come back but his leg would be a massive target in every fight.

But that wasn't a break, your bones heal differently to ligaments
When your leg breaks like that, it's impressive to be able to walk without a permanent limp, let alone come back to fight. I'd lean on that 600 million and live the Ric Flair life until I died haha
Put more respect on Frank Mir. The dude is the only one who came back from a leg snap injury. Think about the odds of that. Frank is amazing.

not sure if the WWE could work in a special move including plates in his leg.... there was Lex Luger with the metal in his forearm
Conor's great great great grandkids will be affluent.
It's hilarious that Joe Rogan is telling Kurt Angle about injuries...many of which Kurt has actually experienced, while Joe thinks he's the expert and Kurt zones out.
The way Connor was spouting bullshit even after that leg snap just shows what a beast he is, others start crying but he was more worried about his image, i honestly hope he doesn't return to ufc and just chill.

Its crazy how people think athletes can just come back after all that punishment

My friend snapped his tib and fib surfing. The bones barely came out of his skin. Had a rod put in his leg and was back surfing in about 6-8 months and he was in his mid 40s.
Yeah but he’s not a high level athlete. He’s just some random surfer dude out there enjoying his life and having fun, which is awesome. However, the expectations are completely different
You cannot compare MMA with surfing. Especially your opponents know about said injuries
He’s not taking leg kicks from high level fighters. Different universe.
Jus don't kick Conor's one leg

If he came back his opponent would target his leg, look what happened to brock leaner after his surgery and come back, opponent used it to his advantage.
Honestly I think as "low" as it might seem Conor might just head into boxing, and a genuine good fight would be someone like Jake Paul.
He can Box ofc, hes got a crazy strike, he's made his money and mark in the UFC I dont see why he cant deviate into something where legs arent involved, much better than him coming back just for everyone one he faces to abuse that leg.
But Joe is right I think if anyone can come back from that in this era its definitely Conor and I wouldn't be surprised if Dana is taking very special care for one of his biggest PPV fighters, probably explains the roids, they were probably actual needed steroids for his muscle to build up again after not using it for so long
