- It's always a good day when Hoang shows up on UA-cam, and in this game he's up against Hera who decided for Koreeeeeeaaannnsss on Golden Swamp. Hera knows darn well how aggressive Hoang can be, so he goes all in to cripple him. Is it enough or will Hoang's crazy all in kill Hera regardless?

@@CG-eh6oe No estrategy can save u if u don't develop your pieces, castle your king, etc. How to correspond with the ages of the game ? move the first pawns is dark Age, develop bishops or horses is feudal agression, castlings is castle age and when you finally have develop everything would be imperial. You can't beat anybody on imperial if you are in feudal, or early castle with only archers

There is some element by thinking of them as tactical stuff. A friend even says football is like chess. And still there is a progression, just a bit more complicated. I have seen some RTS gamers who love chess and vice versa. Maybe you can't be pro in both, but it can happen.

Hey T90, how do you watch recordings of games played in an older patch? Whenever I try that the recording stops after 40 seconds, which makes me very sad because I have some really cool games from April that I want to rewatch. (I remember seeing this game a while ago on Hera's channel, so I assume it is from an older patch, could be wrong though)
For now, you have to reinstall the version a game was played on to spectate it. I'm not sure why or whether the devs plan to fix the behavior.
This game is the living proof that walls are still too mighty and palisade gates shouldn't exist

That TC was 60 hp, if Hoang realized Hera win condition he could have sacrificed a mango or too to get the win. Clutch defense from Hera, what a game.

I think they were speaking at the end of the game which is why it took a while for Hoang to gg and quit. You can ask Hera what they were speaking..
That was awesome, I don't think I've seen a game get that close! If Hera lost that TC, he would have lost, and it was one fricken mango hit away.
Hoang seems to have a WW2 German-esque strategy. It's all about "attack, attack, attack!" with no economy for a prolonged war of attrition. If his opponent is a "France", he crushes them quickly. If, as in this case, the opponent is more of a "Russia" and survives his initial blitz, Hoang ends up stuck in an unwinnable situation, as he has nothing left to throw at the foe.

Hey, as a casual viewer I have a question. I notice that the game time is like 1.5x or 2x real time. Do the players play in fast fowards, or is that only for the benefit of the viewers of the recording?
The standard game speed is 1.7x of 'realtime'. It's a weird holdover from when the first Age of Empires was being developed around 1995-1997, and they realized the base game was too slow, so they sped it up. Cue 1.7x becoming the new "normal" speed.
He freezes after losing a fight because he has to restart his processors.

Sidenote, are you ever going to start casting some team games again? I don't think I've seen a single team game video from you since DE was released. It's a shame that I have to go to other channels to get my team game fix nowadays, when your channel is the reason I got back to the aoe2 scene.

Hey somebody who's actually good at this game tell me something- when i get housed in the dark age, how many villagers should I task to construct a house? I feel like 1 idles the tc for too long, but idling too many vills to build the house also feels bad
2 villis build a house in exact same time that 1 vilager is recruited and same as loom is researched so bassically sent 2 vills to build a house and research loom while housed.
Standard opening is three vils building two houses. Then pull one from wood whenever you need another house.
