So lucky someone documented these trades before they were gone.

As amateur woodworkers we have to sharpen and set our own saws these days. The speed that these professionals achieved is astonishing.

Very interesting seeing all the different brand "manufacturers" saws being produced in the same factory!

The days when made in Britain meant something, Sheffield steel didn’t just mean the product, it also applies the people themselves.

Interesting work. Why is it superior to hammer the teeth by hand rather than machine? I have never made a saw so have no idea really but at first guess I'd have thought even a very skilled person isn’t as consistent as a forming machine

@@michaelking2910 I think you'll find they buy the spring steel for the blades from 1 of the 3 spring steel manufacture in Sheffield, they CNC all the handles them self's, they punch the teeth on the blades the them self's, there are laws in the UK that make it illegal to rebrand foreign made products with made in the UK the saws are definitely made in Sheffield.

@@MrZOMBIE170 if you say so, buying steel from abroad isn’t illegal, it’s not a branded item they buy.. but you clearly know everything
