      Sadly I didn't purchase it from you guys, living in Australia the U.s. dollar doesn't carry over as well as it use to. This exhaust's cost price is $1100AUD/$850USD and after $1000AUD we get hit with import duty. Aussies get ripped off big time in this case, but when our dollar is better than yours our buying power is great.
      I'm now currently trying to figure out the best way to go about for the flash and tune.

    I have been torn beween which exhaust to buy for months. I have the 2016 r1. I've always liked the throaty sound of two brothers but from what I've been told it doesn't do well with performance. I have seen numbers on these bikes with some of the other arrow exhaust with the dyno and ecu. But I haven't actually heard anything about what the arrow indy puts down. The guy I use uses woolich. What have you seen or heard of the arrow indy as far as horsepower to the rear wheel with ecu flash and dyno

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 років тому

      You don't see TBR in any of the professional racing circuits for a reason. Unfortunately I can't tell you numbers because you will call me a liar when you see different ones from a different dyno on a different bike. I can tell you a story about one time when I was experimenting with different canisters on a free flowing exhaust setup. We were able to get a near 5 HP increase on a very stingy dyno, by just switching to a short Arrow EVO can. We did a bunch of dyno pulls with a couple different variations of canister and once we found the optimal one, we tuned the bike better and found even more power. This was a change of canister only. Imagine what happens when you ditch the cat and put on the Indy that is a direct descendant of the EVO.

    Can you do a review on the cat eliminator system code "71151hcp"?

    Great vid. I have just bought an R1M that I am converting for track use. Do you know what the noise outputs are without and with the db killer as it needs to pass a 101 db static noise test for UK tracks? Does the replacement require refuelling? Also, I have heard the R1 is susceptible to non standard pipes in that they can reduce horsepower substantially and trip engine management lights. Any views on that please? Finally, do you do a blanking kit for the rear light?
    Many thanks in anticipation.

      You can go with just the canister replacement. The Arrow unit will give you 101 dB @6750RPM and +2.5HP. If you want to go with the exhaust in this video then you will likely have to use the dB killer at the track. The track organizations typically test decibels at 5000RPM though so your bike may squeak by. I don't have a dB figure on the cat eliminator exhaust that would help you for what you are asking for. Just take a look at what other guys on R1s are using and tech inspectors aren't failing them. I race our factory R1 here in the USA, and because different tracks have different sound limits, I have two different Arrow canisters, and both have dB killers, this way I bring parts to make four variations. One of them usually makes my bike pass tech.
      When you ask about refuelling I think you are asking about remapping the air/fuel maps. It is not 100% necessary but if you are going to spend the money on an exhaust and not have your bike dyno tuned for ignition and air/fuel maps then you will be wasting your money. If you are willing to invest in the exhaust then a racing air filter and a proper tune on a dynamometer should be a package deal.
      Maybe you've heard of someone replacing the standard pipes on the R1 with ones that have no lambda sensor bungs without actually shutting off the exhaust oxygen metering circuit in the computer. This would result in a loss of power and tripping engine codes. Other non-engineered exhaust brands that don't take into consideration flow, acoustics, and other exhaust theory characteristics basically throw together some components that will happen to fit on the bike thinking that people will buy their exhaust just because it's unique enough....and people do. Those exhaust also have the capacity to not add power, and perhaps reduce it. If you stick with an exhaust manufactured by a brand that does real R&D, and stems from real racing heritage then you will be very satisfied with your purchase. Arrow is one such brand.
      We do have a fiberglass blanking kit for the taillight.

    Yon don't use Loctite at all on the bolts ?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  9 років тому

      +JulienMPS The manufacturer does not call for it and on our factory bike those bolts get safety wired anyway.

      @@AdryDoic the amount of enrichment you will need for the scenario you are describing is achieved through one set of injectors. The bike doesn't switch between the two banks of four but instead uses the upper ones to supplement more fuel when needed.

    What ECU Flash solutions are available for this? I am interested.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 років тому

      You will find a few software/hardware providers out there, and a host of shops providing their own tune on those platforms. On our racebike R1 we use FTecu platform and came up with our own mapping for air/fuel ratios, ignition timing, throttle by wire maps, decel maps, etc. This was done on the dyno, and on the racetrack. If you purchase the exhaust from us we can present you with all the choices you have for this and help you out with whatever you need.
