The Ethics of Truth in Reenactments

The video includes spoilers for Stories We Tell (2012) and The Act of Killing (2012) and reenactments of graphic violence.
This video examines how truth is manipulated within reenactments and how filmmakers can address the issue. By using the framework by Garnet C. Buchart, this video will argue that doubling and redoubling the mode of visual address in documentary reenactments creates a self-reflexive presentation that begins to address the ethical issue of using reenactments to represent the truth.
