In and of itself, I think it’s a nice set, especially for new collectors. For those of us that have been collecting the line for awhile, the set probably feels more redundant than it actually is. At the end of the day, I’m very happy with where I ended up which is the Walgreens Iron Man paired with the other four figures from the set. I just would have rather taken the direct route instead of going over the hills and through the woods with Hasbro, especially on my dime.
It’s funny this came up, because if I could wave my magic action figure wand, I would make Hank’s jumpsuit more “red”, because it looks more “rust” than “red” to me. While I’m at it, I would make his head a bit smaller and I would make Mockinbird’s forearms flesh tone. Those are minor nit picks, though. (Before anyone says “It’s called a paintbrush.”, I can’t customize worth a damn. 😉)
I love these figures and the cover of the West Coast Avengers 5-Pack, part of Marvel Legends Series Avengers: Beyond Earth's Mightiest Collection, the cover itself is a direct reference to West Coast Avengers #1 back in the 80's
The shoulder pads on the new Iron Man are new & extend out slightly farther than on the Walgreens version making it a little more comic accurate, so it did get a slight upgrade.
Like 👍 249. I loved the Tigra released. The pinless double jointed arms and legs. The fur sculpt on the body. Alternate heads and hands. Bravo. The color she was released in was like a radioactive ☢️ orange 🍊 but I didn’t mind because I’ve seen her in some comics with that color. This new color is awesome improvement and I need this!
I really like this set and am always a fan of updated Spider-Women because it's actually why I got into Marvel Legends collecting many years ago. Its cool to get a bunch of a team in one box set and I look forward to more!
Great review as always. Really appreciate you always go over the articulation on all the figures you review because even tho some might have the same body type they could still differ in a few ways. Also the figure head swap is greatly appreciated to see how certain figures would look like. Keep up the great work bro.
I was so happy when they they announced Tigra and that she was going to be release because Tigra in this box set is better with the more comic accurate orange than the very looking cheeto orange, I don't have this set of figures but the other West Coast Averages will look great with them all too, Fantastic review MCUcollector24
Honest, Id almost get this for Julia Carpenter alone. I really want all the spider-women on new fully articulated bodies. Just wish Hasbro could figured out diaphragm joints especially crunching. Definitely feels lacking in accessories though. I want a sliding scale of value, if I'm buying 5 figures in a single pack, I want to get more than buying 5 individually.
I'm pulling the trigger mostly for Julia Carpenter, even if it's double dipping because I might already have that figure somewhere.. Always loved that character design. The other figures are nice though, and it's just a great era of the franchise. Still thinking if I'll pull the trigger on Hawkeye.
I can already make this team, except for the Hank Pym, but it's the Comic accurate outfits that got me to go for this. I don't have this version of Iron Man, Mockingbird, or Tigra. So, 4 out of 5 and I can use the Spider Woman 2 on another Earth, as I have 3. Annoying to rejoin all my groups as I had to buy a new phone today. 😃
The new Tigra head IS actually all new. Other than the color, the other difference is the new alt head. The previous version's heads were both actually scaled a bit small, which made her look kinda dumb imo, so if you compare them, you'll see the new head is a tad bigger & now actually scales properly.
I think they put the Hank Pym figure's upper boot parts on the wrong sides. 3:07 Because in the render on the back the parts are swapped. They're on the other legs and they are straight. 14:12 They don't curve out like they do on the figure.
Woord the white look for SC and that WM are the little attire tweak they had in the west coast avengers. The 3.75 line did the same kind of thing. Man Hanks torso, yikes, it's way to short but I love that headsculpt. I want that Spiderwoman the most, and I also never got the old Tigra or the SC, so it's a set I could use but I have to wait and see a price drop. Awesome review!
Great review I love that design of iron man he’s the main draw for me, I probably won’t get this set cus it’s almost the same price as better versions of that iron man. But it’s still a hood set.

That Hank Pym head is great on the Walgreens Sentry body. That front curl gives a blonde Superman vibe.

In some of the older comics her suit is a blue black.
"New" Tigras bikini is actually a dark blue & her stripes are a dark gray & not black as on the previous version.
Really liking that Hank Pym body. Nice to see a marvel legends that isn't 90% painted muscle. Would be great as a mechanic in a display.

WCA in the house! I’ve been waiting for a Hank Pym and Classic Mocking Bird. I’m stoked for this boxset to go with my skycycle Hawkeye!

Cool set. That Pym is a little big for that mold of the classic or retro Antman. I like more Julia red hair. Bare legs look great pinless.

How do you not know to use a blowdryer or nuke a cup of water then soak figure for a minute and it'll be soft
Really want to like this set enough to feel like it's worth, but can't get there. Some nice stuff, just not enough in my wheelhouse.
