- Cadence made the decision on Jan 31 , 2023 to check the box to be an organ donor. Less than a week later, on Feb 6 she was in a car accident. On Feb 8, she became a donor. She went to surgery on Feb 10. She then proceeded to give her heart, her liver, and her right kidney to save 3 lives.
I've been given 22 extra years so far because of people like Cadence. Real life heroes! Bless them all!

Thank you for your kind words. We are coming up on her Angelversary soon. That day is still so imprinted in me. All of this is still new and feels like it just happened. I’ve been on pause since. The little light of happiness I see though is the fact that she saved 3 lives! By her own choice. I’m such a proud momma but I miss Cadence terribly.
The first year is the worst. It will get easier to bear as time passes. We never forget them, they walk beside us every day. God bless. 🧡

I’m a former critical care nurse who used to work with a transplant surgeon that had a bumper sticker on his car that read “why take your organs to heaven cause heaven knows we need them here”. We most certainly do. Thank you.

I really don't know why this was part of my video suggestions but it was more than an honor to watch as she and her family did the most selfless thing possible. My heartfelt condolences to her family and a warm thank you for her donation to others.
This came up suggested on my page. I lost my 18 year old brother in a car accident. He was airlifted and died on the way to the hospital. Only some of his organs were able to be used. Thank you for sharing this. I wish my brother had been given an honor walk. My heart breaks for you all. She had a beautiful soul to be so selfless. ❤

@@DotMcFarlaneshe has no brain activity. That is the definition of brain death. They sustain her comfortably to keep her an eligible donor.
I didn't know an honor walk was a thing until 8 minutes ago. That was powerful! Removing myself from the emotional aspect for a moment, it's a brilliant thing that someone came up with to celebrate the wonderful thing that this person has done and make those that loved that person know they will be appreciated. I'm deeply moved.

I’m alive because of the gift of a donor heart in 2019. Donors give hope in the midst of tragedy. He saved 6 lives that day.
That’s amazing. Examples of people who commit such selfless acts like this just solidify to me that the good people outnumber the bad people by an astonishing number!!!!!! Congratulations and I hope you live a very long and very successful(not just monetarily) happy life!!!!! My uncle received a kidney and pancreas on his 50th birthday. He lived with Type 1 diabetes his entire life. Just when we thought we were going to lose him he got the call. I can't thank the parents of the 16y/o boy who, in their grief decided to donate their son's organs. We enjoyed 16 more years with my uncle who, in the end, we would never have had. I am an organ donor to pay back the incredible gift my uncle was given ❤❤
I'm alive today because someone gave blood. At birth I had to have a total blood transfusion. This was in 1968 was given last rites as I wasn't expected to survive the journey from a small country town to a hospital in Sydney that had the ability to perform this procedure. These days it is common but back than advances in medical science and funding in country hospitals was almost non existence
I will never understand how someone so young can be taken with so much life ahead of her. R.I.P. beautiful young lady. ❤
I can not even imagine losing a child. My heart just ached for her mother. She knew her before she came into this world, and blessed the world with her presence. Fly with the angels, and feel the love and warmth of the Lord. 😢😢😢

This brought tears to my eyes. I had a hysterectomy a year ago and decided to donate one of my kidneys which saved someone’s life. I hope I can save more lives when my time to go comes. My sincere condolences to your family. 🙏🏾

I say this all of the time. We are so short of organs for people who desperately need transplants. Cadence was one of those special people who lived in this chaos that we call a world. God will pick the best even someone so young. The accident was so sad but the joy comes because she showed immeasurable love for others. Rest Cadence, rest.

It’s good of the staff to allow them time, all they need. Shortly before my mother departed this world a priest told her “all the angels and saints will come to get you”. I know that this happened with Cadence.

In times so hard ppl often don’t even want to be approached by the organ donor team. So please everyone sign your donor card & talk to your family & loved ones! About everything you want if the worst happens. It won’t make kissing you easier, but it make make your loved ones heart feel a little lighter knowing you live on & have helped another live!
We lost my Dad much to young. He was a paramedic & always made sure we knew what he wanted. We thought because of his illness they couldn’t use any of his organs. I’m a nurse & forgot the biggest organ we have. Skin! He was able to donate a great amount to the burn unit & of all the things… my blind Dad was able to donate his eyes for a person to see for the 1st time. (There are parts that can be “your bodies issue”)
It still makes me smile.

I cried throughout the whole video. There is nothing more beautiful than the gift of life. During the most devastating time in their lives, Cadence's family chose to save the lives of others, just as anonymous donors did (twice) for my husband. He was given the gift of life via a new kidney at the age of 30, and again at 34. He died at the age of 39 yrs old from heart related issues, and an infection. I was given nine more years with my husband because of people like Cadence and her family, and I will be forever grateful. Because of people like them, we were able to have a son during that time (something that came as a surprise, and wasn't supposed to happen, lol). Our son is now 21 yrs old, and is a reminder of my husband. A gift given because of donors. As an RN, I can't stress enough how important it is to become a donor if you can, because it really does save lives. As the wife of a recipient, I can say that the effect is immeasurable. I remember the pain of losing my husband too soon, but I believe I will see him again, just as I believe you will see Cadence again. Thank you for sharing the video, despite your pain, and her final gift.

We lost my niece a week ago ,she was also an organ donor and she saved 5 lives,it's tough to deal with but the gift she was able to provide to save others is priceless. Love your family relentlessly because you never know.

Blessing to Cadence for her choice to be a donor and to her family preceding with her journey to saving lives. Our youngest daughter was the recipient of a donated kidney on Father's Day in 2019. We send a blessing and thank you to his family, every year on his birthday. Donations of body organs and tissues are a wonderful gift. Please be a donor. Don't worry about your age because there is something that can be used, maybe not an organ, but important tissue.

Being an organ recipient I have so much admiration for these families. My donor family did not want any contact with me so I could not express what they mean to me.
I can only imagine how hard that was for you and then. You who wanted to give thanks and then who maybe wanted to forget the tragic accident that took their loved one. They still think about you and you give their loved ones death meaning. I’m glad you’re ok! Much love!
