  • A commercial district close to the Wouri River, Akwa I is home to the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul Bonadibong, a 1900s building with Byzantine-style columns and domes. The Douala Bercy theater hosts movies and concerts, while nightclubs, casual bars, and African and French restaurants cluster around Boulevard de la Liberté and Avenue King Akwa. Midpriced hotels and local fashion stores dot the entire area. A lively district in the city center, it is now the main commercial district of Douala. Akwa is home to the headquarters of the Douala Stock Exchange, the country's main telecom companies as well as many restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Do you have any videos interviewing and showing the life a young person, a girl, just finishing highschool in your country. I want to know about the house that she lives in, what kind of power they have, eg. hydro, coal, natural gaz, wood, etc. , size of houses, cost of houses, what percent of the population owns their own houses, where does she buy groceries, how does she wash her clothes, what and when does she eat, what relationships does she have with family and friends, where she banks, what kind of weather their is, and how she dresses for the weather, where she goes to church, does her banking, buys a coffee, and something about the culture, any cultural taboos she observes. We are from Canada, and their is much snow, and wind here and it's very cold, and we can go for breakfast at MacDonalds and Tim Hortons or coffee at Starbucks. We can buy our clothes at Walmart, or Giant Tiger, and we can buy our food at Loblaws or Metro or Food Basics or from local farmers. Most of us live in houses and have electricity and running water and some of us live in 2 million dollar houses, but some of us poor Indigenous Canadian's only have houses with three sides, no clean or running water, and no hydro.. We have to mostly hunt, fish and pick berries for food, and we make bread from flour, baking powder, fat and water... Can you please show us what life is like in your country? Thank you so much!
