One thing i didnt mention in the video is that Triple Splashdown has good object damage, just like Reefslider. It does a great job of destroying other HP based specials such as Booyah Bomb, Big Bubbler etc. Also good for destroying Rainmaker Shield
I prefer to use most explosion type specials on the rainmaker shield, especially when it's just right that it'll pop and kill a few enemies. Reefslider seems better for this imo but Splashdown is more fun to use and this video was very informative, thank you
You mentioned jumping over brella shields and hammer with splashdown, but one other thing I do sometimes is when someone places a wall, I run up to it and splashdown because the fists go behind it. Works pretty well from my experience.
As someone who loved splashdown in splatoon 2 despite its flaws, and was overjoyed to see it in 3, this vid was very helpful. I found myself not doing to well with it in some cases, so I’ll make sure to implement these tips into my gameplay next time I use it.

One thing i like doing every now and then is using splashdown with a squid roll or squid surge off a wall. With a high enough wall squid roll will send you far above the enemy and make you really hard to stop, and if you'd rather splashdown at the top of the wall squid surge will always put you there after afterwards
Sometimes when I super jump I’ll land, dodge roll towards the enemies, then I’ll pop splashdown on them. If I think I can survive. I also run stealth jump with Dualies, so that helps.

I've found you can catch a sniper or long-range weapon by surprise on higher elevated maps by squid surging then when you get onto the ledge, you activate your Splashdown. I'm not exactly sure how good useful it is in upper competitive play compared to just swimming up the wall like you showed but it has worked for me a bit!
I just wanna imagine you’ve corned someone and are about to move in for the Splat, then all of a sudden some random ass Octoling with Respawn Punisher-tactical nukes you back to spawn.
It has certainly been difficult trying to fight Triple Splashdown with shorter range weapons like Inkbrush and Luna. That’s a good thing though, it’s amazing that this special can actually counter some weapons now
I’ve really liked seeing all the cool tech this special has, I’m hoping Nautilus 79’ ends up with this special, since the other two kits that got Triple Splashdown had Inkjet in 2, although Inkjet Nautilus in 3 would be sick too.

Idk how good this may be, i havent really tested it much but if u superjump in, u can wait to hit the ground before splashdowning to get ur fists to spawn, but u have a point where u could get shot, and the timing is kind of hard, butit might work, or u could dodge roll of ur using the dualies

Something I have a question though is that I remember from Splatoon 2 as a mechanic was that the Splashdown has higher power/range the higher the player is when performing the special, does the same function apply with the Triple Splashdown- does it still have the increased range mechanic the higher the player is like it did in Splatoon 2..?
I'm curious what you think about using different gear strategies. My dark tetra setup is close to yours, get in and disrupt (hopefully kill). I've been seeing many use more special charge up and special saver. I see a few use special power up which apparently increases the splash zone, not sure how valuable that is. Some weirdly to me use Drop Roller? Then many add Intensify Action which again, not sure why to a weapon that shoots mostly on the ground vs. jumping in the air? Maybe an updater gear ability video is in order?
If we're talking purely about dark tetra dualies the primary gear that is still ran on it is qr spam stealth jump. I rarely see anything else among higher level players
Dont bother with special charge up, special power up, or drop roller. Just run Comeback which has special charge up built in. One sub of special saver could be good but not needed. 1-3 subs of intensify action is good for advanced players because jumping unrolled with splat dualies is actually a very good strategy (I discuss that in detail here: ua-cam.com/video/3Yx2kS-VK34/v-deo.htmlsi=RrhZQ98Skljof5wM)
See that's smart except you don't know if your opponent is expecting a splashdown jump. If they're not expecting it they'll just shoot your jump and you'll die lol

If Nintendo gives splashdown a larger lethal range (or even just a larger ink range) then it will become way better for surprise attacks since you can kill easier or lower the speed of movement the enemy has.
Dumb unrelated question: How annoying is it when I panic and hit the comm buttons multiple times… Also, related comment. Playing sideorder taught me how to use my special without forgetting it was there. I also pop special instantly everytime It comes up when I am doing dummy training (and yes it is purposeful, I cant even aim well at stationary dummies yet)
Like angel said in the comments, Triple Splashdown can one-shot a Booyah Bomb user (even if activated below the enemy). However, this tactic has failed me once (I think it's because only one fist hit the user). Therefore, I'm pretty sure that you need to hit the enemy with the main explosion, both fists, or the outer fringe of the main one and one hand. If I'm wrong, please correct me.
I'm annoyed they didn't give the new undercover brella kit this special. It's a close range weapon that is really weak and needed this for close quarters, but for some reason nintendo's thought process was umbrella has a "screen" so lets give it the screen special...
I have a thingnyou missed you can make ur fist areas one shot if you squid and when your close to completely falling splashdown u should see just to warning that means the fists merged into one and made the 60% damaged to a 120% damage killing ppl but your splashdown will be useless sadly :(

you can even jump over splattercolour screen with splashdown! not very useful, but could also camouflage your approach with splashdown

Fun Fact: If you die right after popping splashdown, you will retain 1/3 of your special because the meter depletes quickly, not all at once.
