Just the tracks? What about the hinge pins, bearings, torsion spring?
can’t believe i followed your advice! After some thought, how does lubricating the tracks leave out the squeaks etc; all it does is provide less squeaking from the wheels with the track and my wheels is not metal that would grind either the track to squeal.
WHAT A WASTE OF LUBRICANT AND TIME. would’ve gotten better advice from the neighborhood street cat.
Who is this guy???😂😂😂
Wrong wrong wrong. You don’t lubricate the tracks. All you’re doing is creating an environment where dirt and dust will accumulate and make it harder for the garage door wheels to go over or through. You want a smooth and clean track that your wheels can ride on. So clean your tracks with a degreaser until all that junk from your previous lub, dust, and dirt comes off.
@@xian.irungu not the tracks. Te tracks are smooth enough. Clean them well and carefully run your fingers inside the tracks and you’ll see.
@@CrazyxxxUkraine ive done both, and just cleaning the tracks was 10x better. It made it easier for the wheels to roll on it without having to go through all the muck that the lubrican collects. It also made it easier for the motor as well. Good luck with it.
To clarify, if the rollers don't work due to lubed tracks, it will damage the rollers and create flat spots. You DONT want to lubricate the tracks.
So what lube did you use?
I like the gas pump. Thanks for the info
It would have been nice if you would have told us what kind of lubricant to use
Do not lube the tracks! Just clean them.
You are not suppose to lubricate the tracks.
That is correct. You only clean the tracks.
Lubricated tracks will collect dust over time and it'll be a pain to get that off.
exactly. And how exactly would lubricant "quiet" a wheel that is rolling in the track?? And then he decides at the end of the video that the lubricant is for cleaning the track??? When is the last time you used grease to clean something?? This guy has no idea what he's talking about.
Can’t thank you enough for your help. Just subscribed
The video is about the wrong way to lubricate a garage door 🤣 The guy lubricated the tracks that actually don’t need to be lubricated and didn’t apply the lube to the parts that require it. It’s funny 😂
That can of spray looks like clone of WD-40 anything that says lubricant and rust preventor smells like WD-40 which is not a long lasting lubricant it works good short term generally evaporates with in a month or less. I find it wears even faster after that it removes whatever lube was in there.
Previous owner lubricated tracks with what looks like 10w40 oil. My question is whether to leave it or clean it out? I presume the latter.
NEVER lubricate the tracks. They should only be clean, not lubricated. The metal hinges should be lubricated.
This video did not tell me what needs to be lubricated and did tell me to put lube where it should not be put. Is this a prank?
Thought u supposed to NOT spray the tracks. Don't u want the wheels to roll n not just slide up n down the tracks??!
What type of lube?????? What if you don't have nylon rollers????
Rutherford Parkway
This video is so lacking in information. Type of lube, what about the chain and spring? Should I lube the wheels? Etc, etc....
You lubricate the centre of the wheels, not the tracks.

don't lube tracks. lol
You aren't done. You need to lube the chain and the spring. Why not put it all in one video
This video is trolling us
WRONG!!!
Don't do this! Wrong advice, all what this will do to a garage door is attracted some dust!
Man, this video is all just wrong lmao.
lube all hinges with white lithium grease and spray the torsion spring on top, youre welcome
U just ruined this guy, lol
What spray for the spring? Silicone?
@@philbellmore9944RP7 spray is fine. Don't use WD40
Garage door lubricant. Blaster has it.
Thats what i did. Just put the wd40 white lithium on the hinges and then silicone lube on the smaller moving parts and rollers. White lithium looks like shit tho after its smeared all over and tracks and stuff.
