This video is a powerful reminder that self-esteem and emotional independence are the foundation of any meaningful connection. The wisdom of Stoicism offers a timeless guide to shifting focus from external validation to inner strength. Truly transformative!
The point about 'emotional self-sufficiency' really hit home for me. Once we stop seeking validation from others, we unlock an entirely new level of freedom and confidence. Stoicism provides such practical tools for modern life. Thanks for sharing this insight!
I'm also 87 I'm finding a lot of good terrafec advises but despite the efford throughout my life no results in communicating with my childrens who are now in their 60yrs I just divorced my 64 yrs old son who is married to a narcissist and uses lise and accusations and then she send my son to repramend me. How to build your self-steem: 1. Emotional self-sufficiency - relying on yourself to be happy and not giving anyone the power over your mental wellbeing - find hobbies/activities that bring you satisfaction - practice self-care - learn to establish healthy boundaries - focus on what you can control, and let go of the things you cannot control 2. Practicing Virtue - being true to your values, regardless of the circumstances - acting according to high moral principles: honesty, courage, justice and wisdom - when you know you are doing the right thing, you don't need other's approval 3. Assertive communication - express yourself clearly and respectfully, without being aggressive or passive - active listening - just as important (if not more important) than speaking. It demonstrates respect and empathy - maintaining eyecontact - shows that you are present and engaged and increases your credibility and makes the other person feel valued - be prepared to receive constructive criticism 4. Active listening - not just hearing words, but understanding and reflecting on what's being said. - put full attention on the speaker, and put aside distractions (phone) - ask thoughtful or clarifying questions (paraphrasing) - also promotes empathy - avoid interruptions - and excercise in patience and presence 5. Consistency and reliability - creates predictability and security - keep your promises and honour your commitments - being a support when needed 6. Empathy -offering comforting words 7. Personal Appearance - good personal hygiene - grooming - dressing according to the occasion - health, staying active, better diet, good sleep - caring for hair and skin - emotional appearance: positive attitude, genuine smile, and open posture 8. development of social skills - initiating conversations - active listening - body language: open posture, eye contact and smile - clear and concise communication - be authentic - practice conflict resolution - seek peaceful resolutions 9. Positivity and optimism - choosing to focus on solutions and opportunities - practice gratitude - surround yourself with other people that uplift, encourage and inspire you 10. constructive feedback - be specific - balance the good with the bad - be receptive to feedback as well
This video really made me reflect on how we can shift focus from trying to impress others to valuing ourselves first. The moment we stop seeking approval is the moment we start attracting genuine respect. Who else finds Stoicism an incredible path to self-growth?
In a world that often values surface-level interactions, this video goes deep. Focusing on self-improvement and self-respect through Stoicism is such a refreshing take! Love how this philosophy makes us reflect on what truly matters.
Daily reflection and emotional self-sufficiency are game-changers! The freedom of not needing external validation resonates so much. Imagine how much more peaceful life could be with this mindset. Who's ready to embrace this kind of confidence?
The idea of transforming how others see us through self-esteem and Stoic wisdom is truly eye-opening. It's not about manipulation but becoming the best version of ourselves. Have any of you tried applying Stoic principles to strengthen your self-worth? Let's share our thoughts!
Well done, there's so many tips, techniques and tricks that it's sometimes hard to know where to start. But it's not rocket science to get your man shivering with ecstasy just by changing the way you talk. As simple as this sounds, maybe try escalating it a step at a time, go’ogle something like Words of Desire by Celestine Dessike to sneakily crawl into his mind and let it build on from that.
