The version of DDLC that Speed is playing is DDLC Plus, which was an enhanced version released for every platform, that had some new content added, like side stories, new music, and some new art to look at. And more lore that made MatPat ditch FNAF for a brief moment.

I dont know how people could skip VN dialogues. They're way too interesting to skip.
Depends on the VN but most people don't care for the reading when youre supposed to be playing. Though I just read a VN that became one of my favorites like 4 days ago. It depends on your attention span mostly. Like sometimes I slog through VNs but then when it gets more interesting I can complete the entire thing in one night while having read every word of dialogue.
