With Scottie Pippen and Ron Harper affected with an assortment of injuries the Bulls give a complete team effort in Game 6 to capture their 4th championship. Scottie Pippen as always gave a great effort defensively and pushed the ball to set up easy points for the Bulls. Dennis Rodman was huge in the 2nd half on the offensive boards and his energy in the 3rd qtr was the key to blowing the whole game open.
Watch Rodman, look at that pure love for the game. He did deserve every single one of those rings!
@@rashard4 cant agree more. Jordan and Pippen woulsnt have 2nd chance shots without Rodman's amazing rebounding offensively and defensively
theCrimsonViper had 11 offensive rebounds, what an absolute weapon he was
@@Headset537 other than rebounding. He was an xfactor on scoring.
MJ's 1st 3 peat. Lakers had Magic with aids and no Kareem. Drexler by himself lol. Then Barkley, and Kevin Johnson lol. 1995 Eatsern Conference Finals MJ choked on a key play in Game 6 and lost to Shaq and Penny 6-0 my ass. Oh MJ was rusty right? He dropped two 50 point games prior to that series. They desperately needed Rodman's help.
Rodman's offensive rebounding won the following 1996 series, most long time Bulls fans agree.
Jordan not only shot terribly from the field, he was absolute s--- in the fourth quarters too (shot 33.3% in them, and only 15.4% in the fourth quarters of the three close games). In the two close wins of the series, Rodman averaged 11 offensive rebounds/game. He was setting records, and when MJ was shooting the team out of the game with bricks (rest of the team struggled shooting wise too), it was Rodman getting all those rebounds to give Bulls the extra possessions. Bulls as a team shot much lower than Sonics in that series...why do you think they still won? They got 34 more possessions from offensive rebounds (Rodman alone had 41!). MJ's scoring could have been replaced in that series, but Rodman's historic offensive rebounding? Not so much.
Rodman should have been the MVP of that Finals. The Bulls shot much worse from the field than the Sonics in the Finals but still won. How did that happen? Simple. The Bulls got more shot opportunities from offensive rebounds basically negating many of their misses. Rodman, by himself, secured and additional 41 possessions for the Bulls with his offensive rebounding including 2 games where he tied an NBA Finals record. That's like playing H-O-R-S-E and someone giving you multiple "do overs" after you've missed.
Jordan didn't have to contend with a generation behind him - go look at the drafts from '86-'95; there was very little top-end talent entering the league and a good number of 'em were on the Bulls.
Payton was injured in the NBA Finals in 1996. Horace Grant was also very underappreciated as a Bull, a key in the Magic beating the Bulls in '95, and injured in Game 1 in '96. Also, while people give Jordan credit for the titles he didn't win because he quit on his team (twice), they also don't factor in the extra wear and tear those years would've put on him in the later years, probably costing him a couple titles on the back end.
He also didn't have to exist in a social media world - he was prickly with the media and always felt maligned, even by the mostly flattering "The Jordan Rules" - imagine him exposed to the comments and 24-hour sports news cycle of today. He's a notoriously terrible talent evaluator - imagine if the Bulls had felt compelled to pick the players he wanted. We all know he didn't want Scottie Pippen; imagine if he had to play GM and coach and SG. Or if the Bulls weren't able to lock Scottie Pippen into a now-impossible ridiculously low contract. Jordan has a grand total of 1 playoff GAME win without Pippen. Jordan also played in a watered-down league as the NBA expanded from 23 teams to 30, and the West was the deeper conference back then.
So basically when Jordan was winding down his prime, all his competition was ALSO winding down theirs, and most were even older than he was. LeBron, meanwhile, has had to play his last two Finals against TWO league MVPs in their prime that partnered up while his "superstar" teammates are both guys who have won a total of zero playoff games without him.
LBJ's a pass first player. 10k+ assists 10k+ boards 30k+ points will NEVER be done again. LBJ GOAT no question. Bigger, stronger, faster. Rings are a team achievement, not an individual accomplishment. Facts. Keep hating.
@@Sytadel basically a nonsense reason by a brontard
Man! Just love the energy Rodman brought to the team. Sad that these types of players are gone now in current day NBA
Ed Kenneth draymonds like that now though
SchmeichelP just stop it!
You obviously don't watch enough games of him playing. Draymond has been like that since his college days in Michigan. He might be overly excessive when he trash talks and frustrates the refs, but you can't deny his competitiveness that rivals Rodman and other older guys.
Jordan and then are better
players now are flopping
Scottie Pippen had one of the most beautiful game to watch.
This was when the NBA was pure magic.
I know, it is so unwatchable now.
he retired a few years earlier fool
Yea where real men played
Rev JGCE 😁😁😁 players nowadays are cry babies!
The Bulls were hitting 3s
The greatest team ever in NBA history (possibly in all of sports history) - the '96 Bulls. I feel privileged to have witnessed both the regular season and playoffs. Living in NY, me and my dad (sleep in peace Pop) tried our hardest to never miss a televised game. Thanks for all the priceless memories guys.
Having grown up in The Chicago Suburbs I am so grateful to have seen MJs entire career!
I do not believe my eyes ... it was more than 25 years ago that I watched the NBA finals live on TV from Algeria ..... the golden age
Tga alegria ka??
@@wilmarmacalalag7538 hahaha
Goosebumps to the core.. The Chicago Bulls were my reason for living as a kid.
I felt the same way brother D
Best team ever.
In study hall back in the mid 90's in Chicago I read the sports section exclusively because I couldn't get enough of the Bulls. What a great era in sports history.
Michael Jordan won MORE than a championship that night. The Bulls completed the greatest season in NBA history in his first full season back, but more importantly, the image of him crying in the locker room at 8:48 has stayed with me. He wanted the ball, screaming, "It's for my father!" Michael Jordan won the respect and adulation of the entire world on that particular Father's Day!
These days we know the alleged stories about James Jordan repeatedly raping his daughter, from Deloris' book. This used to be one of the most iconic moments of my life, but like so many things, it wound up being tainted.
At this point Jordan had just came back from a brief retirement ( a year & a half). He had just retired after his father James had just got killed.
Jordan played like trash that series
Especially because Jordan was in his prime
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤
Dennis Rodmans mood this game is how I want to live my life.❤
I like how rodman gets hype as hell after every time he gets fouled
That NBA on NBC theme gives me chills, takes me back to the 90s NBA.
Same, that theme will always remind me of 90’s basketball
NBA pregame show with Ahmad Rashad doing highlights and haddaway what is love beat in the background. I KNOW someone remembers that ☺️
Delusional..😂😂😂
There will never be another Michael Jordan!!!! And there will never be a team more electrifying team to watch fly up and down the court than the 90’s bulls!!! Best era of basketball there will ever be !
Nick Bowman the warriors duh

@shanese8471perhaps the 80s Lakers and Celtics era is more iconic but this era is what made the nba famous worldwide.. as a kid from Sweden, no one ever watched a game of nba basketball, you couldn’t find them on tv, but every single kid knew who Michael Jordan was.
Memories of sitting on the floor as a kid in our hot house with my Pop & Brothers watching these games...Great memories!
Same!!!
Watching in 2020 with my son, gives back good memories. This was one of the best if not the best era of NBA basketball.
DAMN do i miss the 90's. Basketball at its finest. Look at Rodman's emotion in this game. He loved playing basketball! You dont see that in today's NBA
Me too
5:41, no one will ever love the game the way Rodman did.
Holy crap, great example. Look at him absolutely sprint back into the right lane for the pass from Pippen... Absolute thing of beauty
This was the era when superstars played all 82 games also.rodman was a beast by the way.
@@michaelkawell3300 their bodies held up well unlike these muscular new players who get injuries every now and then
Hell yeah the worm. Hes always had my respect.
I forgot that was on Father’s Day, how magical that one was. Even as a Lakers fan I always rooted for MJ’s Bulls.
This is the era where amazing happens. Bulls has everything; the best scorer & goat, best sidekick, best rebounder, best sixman, best 3 shooter, best defense trio, and best coach. Not only in that year but in the history of basketball, ALL OF THEM.
That’s what Jordan created around him. He demanded guys get everything from themselves
I think bulls fans will never forget this magnificent pair Jordan and Pippen, the NBA's all-time greatest duo
MJ leaves the Bulls, Rockets win 2 championships. MJ comes back, Bulls do a three-peat .... GOAT
FlaatBeat Don’t Forget The Spurs In 99’ When Jordan Left Once Again
@Ro 2 all them regular season wins mean nothing if you can't get to the finals to prove it. The Rockets were unproven up to those Bulls championships. Bulls would've beaten them in 6 despite what they say.
@Ro 2 no sir. The Rockets weren't beating the Bulls in any year
@Ro 2 just talking your bs huh?
MrH1120 n you’re fucking insane Hakeem had the Bulls numbers. The Sonics would’ve won if they had Payton guarding MJ earlier, he was below average this series...Rodman’s dominance on the boards saved the Bulls.
Boy Rodman used to crack me up with his celebrations after he scored!
True passion.
Exactly!
Those guys in that era earned everything that they were paid Straight passion and love of the game💯💯
Goosebumps..The best team ever,,,,,

Me too. the 80's /90/s 00's were the golden age for the NBA.
2000s was actually some of the worse boringest basketball. 09-14 basketball was fun to watch again. But it's back to being garbage.
I watch these old bulls championships runs every couple months. The memories of those run was the best
That team was so successful because everyone played their roles and was damn good at it!!!
Jordan : (King of) Scorer, Pippen : Assister/Scorer, Rodman : (King of) Rebounder, Kerr/Kukoc : 3 Pointers.
BULLS of 90's : The Greatest Powerful Team
Debu Pegasus Kukoc was not only 3-pointer,he was all-around player, just couldn’t guard as effectively as Scottie, plus Ron Harper was hell of a player, solid scorer and excellent defender.
Greatest sports intro in history. Just watching the intro brings me so many chills and brings back the amazing feelings I felt before those Bulls games in the playoffs and finals, it's like I could relive the whole experience just by watching the intro.
MJ always goes for the rebounds... And played defense while being the highest scorer for his team... You cant say the same thing with the superstars now. 🤐
And this is why the Bulls are better, in terms of being a well loved team... They have different colorful characters that is so fun to cheer for when they do their best of what they do.
From Rodman's antics but with intelligent and hustle plays, Kerr's three point specialty, Kukoc all around game, Harper's offensive threat, Pippen's domination on both ends of the court, and MJ of course. Not to mention the rest of the Bulls' energetic bench.
They have the charisma of a fantasy team.
Yes but I keep sayin, without jordan chicago hasnt before or after jordan ever won a title.i could have won a ring on his teams.
@@chuckyboy7940 nah boi, then why they didn't win a single ring when he left?
Its because mj wasnt there. Rodmans good but like I keep saying theyve never won without jordan. They definitely won without rodman. Lol
like what MJ say .. why bother to ask who is the greatest player, is dumb question.. Ask which is the best team ever to play NBA till date
I agree the '95-'96 Bulls are the greatest NBA team ever...
They won the title and the Warriors didn't. That's all that needs to be said.
Yes and go Cubs
Jason Lassiter 2019 Warriors are the greatest nba team ever lmao
They lost against the greatest player lebron
72 ain't a thing without a ring...
And they backed it up. Greatest team ever.
David Targos Warriors don't know how to do a 3peat. lol
*If it wasn't for these clips, I'd forget how good S. Pippen was.*
The whole bulls team was magic.
I mean, they defined basketball in a scientific way.
i always remember this game because it was the same night of my 8th grade prom.. and it was just a perfect way to end my night
IT WAS A GIFT !
SPORTS IS AN ART ON ITS OWN !
Back in the 90s, the only two forces to be reckoned with is Air Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Honestly, I still captured those wonderful Chicago Bulls championship moments in my mind. I mean to witnessed those awesome moments on television is something that I can not put into words.
Nobody feared Pippen til midway through the 2nd 3 peat 😂
This is how great champions and great teams play. I'm so grateful use to see this when I was kid here in Chicago. Very proud of the bulls. It's like poetry in motion.
part of the reason michael jordan will always be considered the greatest of all time was his personality. he dominated the game physically and emotionally with the tremendous charismatic presence he carried with him into the court and out among the fans and the press
MJ made N.B.A internatonal, and other players benefitted from it as Barkley
says. Even today, even though there people who don't know Lebron in another
country, bu nobody around the globe doesn't say he/she doesn't know MJ.
His personality is sometimes quoted dubuious, but his fierece competetiensss
DEMANDED others and only a few could get along with him well.
***** He was the PERFECT basketball player!
***** You done slurping on MJ black meat?
***** Magic and Bird turned losing teams into winning teams within the first year of joining, meanwhile the Pistons built their arsenal from the ground up. Bulls sucked ass with and without MJ until Pippen finally stepped up for them to win--then they took Rodman an original a Piston who was and is one of the best defensive and aggressive players of all time. All the cards were set up for them to win! All the odds were stacked against teams like the pistons and 90s knicks (real teams that did whatever it took to win). Only someone as unstoppable as Rodman could help them get the last three when they no longer had it in them. The league cheated for MJ and changed rules for him so he could dominate. (handchecking and three second rules) All they wanted to do was suck MJ who was so bitter, he told administration not to let isiah thomas play on the dream team--the greatest team ever assembled, when he was the greatest PG in the league at the time and IS top 10 best PG's of all time who paved the way for dominate players under 6'4". MJ was a whiny bitch who cried when he lost anything and he wasn't that fucking good, especially in earlier years without Pippen who forced him to use his team which enabled him to get even one ring. How about YOU get some knowledge of what you're talking about! Instead of dickriding, understand the logisitics connecting the nba and "his airness" I mean, with his PUSH-OFF "last shot" in 98 and his rigged "flu games" and excessive ballhogging how can he really be considered the best? None of that stuff would be excepted today. He had teammates who never got to show their full potential. besides, most of what you hear about him being the greatest comes from NIKE and Jordan Brand and its all a part of their marketing scheme to get you to pay 200 for some basic ass shoes.
SX BX you're a moron lol! The bulls were garbage without Jordan but Jordan made the playoffs EVERY single year he was there! Lebron didn't make the playoffs until 2006. Take your ass somewhere else
KEMP great finals performance
RODMAN mann what a defensive play ,it will never come again like this
Good point. It was Rodman and Kemp who were the better players in the Finals that year. Just can't have dual MVP players- one from the winning team and one from the losing team
Dynamic!!! Loved the NBA back then. Love what the bulls brought to the NBA. The most exciting team to watch So much excitement and Michael made it spectacular!!
This is what championship basketball is supposed to look like.
9:45 His words are heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. Truly the greatest sports player of all time
Watching every Bulls title from the 90's and being around that time period will always be some of the best years of my teenage years. I was about 11 when their dynasty started in 90-91 and watched every single playoff game. They were a great team and probably the most clutch team ever, that's why they had only 2 series go the distance to 7 games out of 24 playoff series. Watching MJ in his absolute prime was such a great. They also played amazing defense with 3 of the best defenders in NBA history in Pippen,Rodman and Jordan. Kukoc was underrated and could of done alot more on a lesser team but played his role great. Kerr,Harper,Longley all played their roles perfectly and really elevated their games at times. Plus they were very well coaches and a great front office and GM. They just found a way to win when it mattered most and refused to lose.
Wow! Just wow! I still get excited like they won today. Amazing team!
Dennis Rodman co-mvp of these finals : no doubt about this !!!! His impact on the game was tremendous and fundamental for the Bulls !!! Best defensive passion and energy player of all time !!!

Notenoughammoandguns been a bulls fan since i was 5 and i would admit. The GSW would destroy this Bulls team. Jordan would be jordan but the game has evolved. Rodman would be benched bc he cant guard the out side and that alone would exploit them. The bulls bench would not score more than 5 points against gsw bench. It would be a sweep.
Lol Scottie was an asshole
I dont know how many times I watched this game.
what a Dynasty.

The intro music got me hyped. Best sports introduction ever.
So emotional great talent great human beings respect too the Sonic's as well great team great competitors forever 23 fan of Jordan

With the Bulls, especially during the 2nd 3peat, there was a feeling of inevitability. No matter what the score was by the end of the 3rd quarter you know by the 9min mark of the 4th (the time MJ comes back to the game) they will comback. When the game is 5pts or less with 5mins to go, you know the Bulls got the game in the bag already. When they were down 3 with 40secs to go in game 6 in Utah, you just know Jordan will come up big and take care of business like he always has. With the other dude that's the best player today, its up in the air.
Dennis Galabo - So true! What's crazy is EVERYONE knew Jordan carried that dagger for his opponents hearts, yet no one could stop it. Michael was the only one who could really stop Michael. That is what makes him the GOAT. LeBron might be more physically gifted because of his size and freakish athleticism, but teams don't fear the dagger from LeBron. If I had my choice of who I'd rather face, Jordan or James, I'd pick James every time. I want no part of Jordan, especially in the playoffs..
Clark Bucher mj is still more physically gifted than lebron. big hands, long wing span, can jump very high either with one foot or with two feet, really good core muscles, cat like quickness, deceptive strength and top it all with the crazy drive to win.
lebron is just bigger. thats all
I totally agree. It's hard to explain but there came that moment in the 4th quarter, no matter what had transpired beforehand. You had Jordan. You just knew it was their destiny.
And it not "only" what MJ did and how he commanded his team, it was HOW he did it. More times than not, it was works of art, absolute aweinspiring and nature defying shit and what ENTERTAINMENT is ALL about. You didn't want to miss a second, cuz you never knew, when he was gonna do some shit worthy of a cape. The same goes for the great Emmit vs. Barry discussions on best RB. Barry had that outofthisworld X-factor as well, why I will go to the grave with Barry Sanders being the greatest RB to ever suit up.
