Macro Photography it a whole new world it must be like humans walking through a jungle there must be billions of insects that we’ll never see but the ones you have caught up in your video Shield Bugs are amazing and that Caterpillar stood on that fern just look like a branch that had fell from a tree. Thank you for taking us on your “ morning walk “ adventures.
The 60mm is a great lens, I love mine. So compact and powerful, no excuse not to bring it with you whenever you go out into the field. Another great video, Espen! ❤️
Really great to see you doing a bit of macro, my favourite type of photography Espen. Be careful though, as it is extremely addictive and the more magnification the worse it becomes. it's like seeing the natural world with a totally different viewpoint. Colours shapes and life itself take on a whole new meaning. Fantastic video as usual, thank you Espen.
These Morning Walk videos are terrific! I truly enjoy your enthusiasm for nature and all that you find around you. In this video, I appreciated your showing how the diffuser works, as well as the focusing on the 60mm macro. I am not a macro shooter. I have taken close up with my zoom lenses and the 12-45mm pro which gets pretty close to subjects, but I have not invested in a macro lens, or flash, or diffuser. It's a direction I'm thinking about. One thing I did do, but haven't actually used yet, is that I watched your video that you did quite a while ago on the Nisi close up lens kit and I purchased that to try with my 40-150mm (I have the f2.8 and the f4). If you have that kit still - unless it was a loner that you received and did a review for Nisi - I'd love to see a video where you use it. Thanks for all your efforts!
Thanks for the interesting photo walk Macro/Close up with my Olympus kit is my main interest, i have the AK Diffuser and like you mention it can be hard to get close enough sometimes For getting in really close i use the Godox CD-15 silicone diffuser. It works really well, better diffusion than similar silicone diffusers.(i have tried most of them) this one packs down really small. It needs a foam spacer to fit small flashes but fits on well. A bonus is that it is cheap The only downside is most silicone diffusers dust sticks to it if you put your gear down in dirty ground. It works with a range of lenses as well. What brand of diffuser are you using? So far my amrra of choice is the EM10 mk2. I take a lot of spider shots and need the flip down screen, the glip out screens on my other Olympus cameras touches the the webs or folage when deployed spooking ghe spiders. For macro with OM would introduce one of those rezr screens that both tilt and flip
Well done, Espen. But you forgot to explain which diffuser you got and if it is useful also for 90 mm macro lens. Another question about flash: a great photographer suggested me to use flash instead led lights, but so i cannot use focus bracketing. He also suggested me to use 2 or 3 flashes by remote control. He doesn't use OM System devices. What is your opinion about? Thank you. Bye
You can of course use flash while focus bracketing on OM System/Olympus gear. A good diffuser is important for any lens, so yes you‘ll want one for the 90mm as well. Using Multiple flashes isn‘t practical at all for macro wildlife.
I find the 'flying nun' diffusers problomatic for a couple of reasons. The size is one and having the lens where it is gives spiders a false pupil in their eyes. I get around this by using KR Macro Diffusers by Kev Russell. They have a different construction and don't have the afformentioned problems. As an aside, TTL will cause hoppers and hoverflies etc to leap away on the preflash, go manual and yest for best exposure, keep up the good work.
It is so much fun to shoot macro, you will be surprised what you can find in your backyard
Absolutely 👍
You can do macro anywhere. There's a whole other world right outside your door you don't even see. Great fun.

Thank you John 🙂 it really is an amazing small world down there!
Espen, is your flash shield specifically for the OM system or would it fit the Canon flash too. Would you know ?

Thanks a lot Russ! Can’t wait for next season 🙂
Nine and a half minutes ago, I didn't think I needed any new lenses or gear.
😂 there’s always more gear
😀
Same!
Love this new direction, looking forward to your tips on focus stacking with flash.
Cheers 🙂

Really enjoyed watching the macro photography footage. A big LIKE from me. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Singapore.
Thanks a lot Cheiko 🙂
Some fantastic images there.
Thanks a lot Malcolm 🙂
I have the same with my Olympus OMD EM1 MK3 it's a superb set up
Great video, would love to see more OM 5 content, with cheaper lenses. Seems like everyone always concentrates on top of the line equipment
Will do 🙂
Great images. The 60mm macro with a flash and difuser is next on my list after saving up for the 40-150 2.8 pro with the MC14
Thank you 🙂
Lovely images. The diffuser is excellent isn’t it
@@antonystephenson4324 it’s brilliant! Thank you 🙂
awesome video
@@Rudy60426 Thank you 🙂
Always like your videos Espen. Maybe you could do one with your old standby 300 f/4 PRO
Unfortunately sold that lens to afford the big one 😬

Please create a workshop just for macro :)
Will do :)

@@garys639 thanks for the tips! Will definitely start using manual at some point and will have more of a look into the false pupil eyes
What about macro shots of midges? :)
😁 maybe next year
El curso: "Guía de su cámara del sistema OM" ¿Lo puede hacer una persona que no habla ingles?
I might be able to get subtitles to another language, but my menu where I show the settings is in English so unfortunately I’m not sure it would work.
Kein crop bei der Bearbeitung ?
I am not impressed.
