I couldn't agree more I thought I was watching Discovery channel explaining
Saw this video and went to a local lake to try out your tips and caught my first bass of the year! Thanks man!
Awesome series. My boys want to start fishing and I know nothing about the sport. Your videos cleared up a ton for me, can't wait to get started.
Thanks, Kevin! Good luck to you and your boys.
You should do a intermediate series for after we get good at the basics.
It was definitely something I was considering. Thx.

Thank God someone explained how to hold a baitcaster. I can't tell you how many youtube fishing channels hosts hold a low profile baitcaster like a zebco. Great video man.
I got 6 yesterday in my golf course pond. Thanks you so much!!
Hi Jeff. Amazing videos. I´ve learned soo much and I cannot thank you enough :) I just wanted to ask if is there any chance of having a similar video to the "part 8" dedicated this time to the spinning reel/rod instead of baitcaster reel?
Hopefully down the line when the series expands we'll tackle the spinning reel.
I’ve watched like 8 hours of fishing videos and this series has taught me the most I didn’t even know that backlash existed till part 8
SIMPLY THE BEST SERIES ON FISHING EVER.THE INTERMEDIATE SEREIES IS FANTASTIC THANKS JEFF
Austin, Texas here.. Granger Lake, thanks for the info brother!!
These tutorials are great! I fish only saltwater but have been wanting to catch my first large mouth for the longest time and your videos have provided clarity. Thank you so much!

I watched this whole series, bro your videos are so detailed. I feel more confident with my bait caster now
Thanks, great video! I've been lure fishing for a few years but always uncertain of my retrieve. Can't wait to try some of your tips
Very cool tips. Seeing the action of the lures in water really gives me a better understanding on how to retrieve. Thanks!
I have NEVER fished. I'm 22 with 2 sons and I would feel terrible if I didn't teach them how to fish. Everything I learn from you I will teach them. Thank you sooooo much for going slow for dummies like me.
Thanks for teaching your sons the joy of fishing. My dad was the one who got me started in fishing when I was a kid.
this introduction has taught me so much, i fish saltwater, learned a few new things today and plan on giving freshwater a shot.

Man. Super great job. I originally began watching these videos LAST YEAR. Can't believe the series isn't done yet, but these are hands down the one stop shop for bass tutorials. Subscribed and liked to give the author some love. Lemme know what else you need to get the next video out man? Lol!
Hahaha thanks for sticking with it! I certainly didn't expect it to take this long, but real life gets in the way and I insist on doing these videos right and not rushing them.
Well as someone who watches an embarrassingly amount of hours of youtube fishing videos, your quality is the best, bar none. Nicely done man.
I appreciate this info. Ive always had my troubles with using lures. Thank u
About time! Jeff should have a job in a radio station, or do an asmr video. His voice is the best

Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Thanks Jeff!
Jeff, I really like your direct presentation style and the first person view on your videos. The instructions are clear and concise! I am new to bass fishing and feel that after watching and rewatching this series that I can get out there and have some fun at my local lake. I found a great rod and reel this weekend that hit on all of your suggested specs. Yes, I took notes and walked into the shop knowing what I wanted, thanks to you. I AM READY.
Appreciate the videos. Good stuff
Super helpful
this was really helpful
Good quality information.
Is there any advantage to using a loop knot for different action?
Yes! I use one for topwater poppers every once and a while.
Love this!!! But where is 10?
How do you avoid getting lodged under rocks/weeds when fishing along the bottom?
Well, some presentations are relatively snag-proof. Like a lot of soft plastics, for example. For other baits w/ exposed hooks like jigs you'll develop a sort of 6th sense over time where you'll feel when you are near an obstruction. And you can kind of work over or through things like rock, brush, or grass. But then again, sometimes there's no avoiding getting a lure snagged. It's just part of the game hehe.
Unfortunately it's part of the game. My rule is if I get stuck and have to snap the bait lose then it's a win. If the knot came lose during the tug it's a loss. Just focus on the knots and you'll get free from most hang ups.
im gonna rewatch this whole series cuz ive been fishing for a couple years now and i havent caught a single fish in the last 10 outings. pretty sure im not doing anything wrong either but idk
Bro same
I haven't seen 10 come out yet when are you posting it
Had to be pushed back until the spring. Sorry about that!
videos are pretty knowledgable
For a video on "how to retreive," this leaves a few holes in the actual descriptions of retrieve techniques. For example, when first introducing terms like "slow roll" or "twitch" etc., it would be a really good idea to clearly DEFINE what you mean by those words. And since this is a video, you might even SHOW examples of what that looks like - at the handle and reel, and at the tip of the rod, and below the surface - so that people who are unfamiliar with the terms or with the techniques can actually learn "how to retrieve." Terms that need attention: steady, burning, slow rolling, twitch, crank the reel. You did a good job with this when describing stop-and-go and hopping, and you tried to do it with burning but didn't quiet make it clear enough. The other terms are not so self-evident as you might assume, and could use some extra clarification. The second half of the video about detecting bites was good.
what rod and reel are you using?
how to unhook it with how to reel it in plz? i have always had trouble with that
great vids
So what do we do if we have no thumbs?
New drinking game, take a shot everytime this dude says bait
nice vid as always. just moved to the DFW area and started learning to fish. your vids helped out a lot!
The way this dude says bait cracks me up
Thx excellent
Yup on my way to grab more lures lmao
when is the new one
What happen if i don't use lures.. i only used the real thing.
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
"my name is Jeff" LOL
When the heck did the name get changed from Rattle Trap to Lipless Crankbait? Because I remember when we called them Rattle Traps.now they called Lipless Crankbaits?
Rat-L-Trap is just a brand name. It's probably one of the most well-known brands for lipless crankbaits so a lot of people just call all of them rattletraps.
Vsauce 3 runs a bass fishing channel?
My name is Jeff😁
I'm suprised he has less than 50k subs
my name jeff
Who holding that camera tho 😳
Never knew Kyle from Nelk had a fishing channel
