Squirt Trimaran - Catching and Passing, 2023 Texas 200

Lost my GoPro overboard on Day 2 in some pretty fierce winds trying to make shore for the night. Had great footage but sadly it's lying on the bottom off a spoil island in Upper Laguna Madre, Texas. Winds blew the first three days this year upwards of 15 knots, reaching well over 30 knots on occasion...day and night! Didn't dare risk losing my phone too, so I came home with very little recorded. Thanks to others I do have some pretty cool photos and video though.
Squirt responded wonderfully. She sailed the entire event on second reef. Her recently lengthened amas performed as intended. I had more stability and speed.
It was HOT, it was WINDY, it was EXHAUSTING. But now that it's over I have to say I had a blast. Recovery, at my age, takes a few weeks. I am getting there, slowly. Squirt's a little sportster with a lot of heart. She can be feisty when the wind's up. Fun to sail.
I sure hope I'll be up to doing it again next year with her.

Loss of gear aside, it still was a pretty neat video, looked like everyone was having a good time!
