The US needs an antiwar movement. A big “congress” like Stop the War in the U.K. would be great… maybe linking DSA, CodePink, etc and creating one big, single issue organisation ☮️

Tariq Ali's parents were actually communists. He departed from their kind of communism when he became a Trotskyist activist in the 60's. Tariq Ali has told about his family backround on many occasions, so I suppose he is not ashamed of it. He has also written about Pakistan, for example The Duel - Pakistan on the Flight Path of American Power (2008).

Only one answer comes up as to the reason why the Taliban retook power and that's down to American corruption in Afghan society. Very few people ever look across the border East. Pakistan is barely looked at.
