There are some schools that teach so called 'semi-english'..and thats a joke. Teaching Englsih is not the full way to gain development. In European countries like Germany, all info is in German and its a developed country!!
I think we should make Hindi as a unified Indian language and make it compulsory for every citizen to learn. Also Make English alongside Hindi optional for everyone to learn. Sure, it will take few years for everyone to learn both languages completely, but the current language barrier in India (which is an bigger issue in itself) can be completely eliminated. Then every information, all documents, education can be just made in 2 languages for everyone to understand. People can happily preserve their own regional languages alongside hindi and english, and I am not saying to completely abolish their mother tongue.
I think the problem also lies in the fact that most of the media institutions are owned by politicians or businessmen which can influence the news in their favor and they do it every time. You can make a video about that because I think they should be independent institutions so that no biased coverage is given on a national platform

I am from the United States, and don't know anyone from India, so accurate and unbiased information can be difficult to get here. Due to this, I do not know much about the current situation there. It is thanks to content such as this that I am able to become better educated about this world we all share. It is well put together, and is thorough enough and clear enough for me to understand. While I may not know a lot about India, I do know that India is a diverse country with lots of talent in it. It would be a shame if something as simple as "too many people" held you guys back. In the US, there is also a media circus that can be distracting. Here, some important topics not discussed enough are things like the oversized prison system. However, even when a serious issue is discussed here, there is an added problem: nobody can agree on anything, so nothing gets done. Even something as simple as "trying to have less people get killed by guns" is a touchy issue, somehow. The media plays to this, turning a serious issue into another distraction, widening the gap between people in the process. I am more worried if something like this happens in India than in my own country, as India has 4 times as many people as the USA, meaning 4 times as many people are affected. I hope India can solve this ongoing population issue before it becomes too great a problem to overcome. Cheers!

And let me clear the statement that we live in that type of country where talking about sex or anything related to it called taboo. I still remember that when i was in 10th and when the reproduction chapter came in line for teaching by my teacher. You won't believe that she just read the lines and completed it. Thank you for the good exploration of this problem. Population is the absolute root cause of all problems in the Indian sub-continent region which includes Pakistan and Bangladesh. The population of the combined subcontinent was 400M at Independence. Now it is greater than 1500M. Nearly a 4x increase in span of 7 decades. The dynamics have gone outside the parameters of natural sustainability. I have lost my sleep over this problem since 10-15 years. I have tried to think of all solutions to this. Ultimately I have come to a conclusion that only nature will take care of it and it is going to be very very ugly and painful. The reason being, only an grass-roots efforts can solve this problem. The government and corporations are against any solutions since it is in direct conflict of interest for them. And after getting a pulse from the common man, nobody even realizes that population is the core of all problems and everybody wants to just creating children. I am very very sad, that when nature re-adjusts it will be very drastic and by the time it happens all the natural resources in India would have got depleted completely. I predict that India will be civil-war zone like some African countries by 2050-60. We might see something of Mad-Maxian worlds. I only pray that the beauty of this land gets somehow saved by some miracle.
Our population growth rate is decreasing, but we r large in numbers so even a couple is having two child it doubles the counting with crores. So it will take time to bring the situation in control. More over our literacy rate is also slow.

Your area comparison with China is flawed because 2/3rd of China is barren & semi-arid wasteland. Most of China's population is concentrated on the fertile east coast and thus has higher population density than India. If you go by fertile land availability, India has the most arable land area in the world even though it is many times smaller than top 6 countries. Most of India's land is fertile & livable, while that's not the case with others.
Large population uneducated is the problem, China tackled this problem 30 years ago, not only demographic structure has been changed but also the mentalities and social values. The education is not only important in people's words but also in their action, they valued this so much and invested tremendously on this aspect, so only in one generation, you can see the change

See. Its about the kind of people you are targeting. do you seriously believe your info in english will work in villages?. There are some schools that teach so called 'semi-english'..and thats a joke. Teaching Englsih is not the full way to gain development. In European countries like Germany, all info is in German and its a developed country!!
I think we should make Hindi as a unified Indian language and make it compulsory for every citizen to learn. Also Make English alongside Hindi optional for everyone to learn. Sure, it will take few years for everyone to learn both languages completely, but the current language barrier in India (which is an bigger issue in itself) can be completely eliminated. Then every information, all documents, education can be just made in 2 languages for everyone to understand. People can happily preserve their own regional languages alongside hindi and english, and I am not saying to completely abolish their mother tongue.
I think the problem also lies in the fact that most of the media institutions are owned by politicians or businessmen which can influence the news in their favor and they do it every time. You can make a video about that because I think they should be independent institutions so that no biased coverage is given on a national platform

Thank you for this video, it was very informative, especially as an outsider! I am from the United States, and don't know anyone from India, so accurate and unbiased information can be difficult to get here. Due to this, I do not know much about the current situation there. It is thanks to content such as this that I am able to become better educated about this world we all share. It is well put together, and is thorough enough and clear enough for me to understand.
While I may not know a lot about India, I do know that India is a diverse country with lots of talent in it. It would be a shame if something as simple as "too many people" held you guys back. In the US, there is also a media circus that can be distracting. Here, some important topics not discussed enough are things like the oversized prison system. However, even when a serious issue is discussed here, there is an added problem: nobody can agree on anything, so nothing gets done. Even something as simple as "trying to have less people get killed by guns" is a touchy issue, somehow. The media plays to this, turning a serious issue into another distraction, widening the gap between people in the process. I am more worried if something like this happens in India than in my own country, as India has 4 times as many people as the USA, meaning 4 times as many people are affected.
I hope India can solve this ongoing population issue before it becomes too great a problem to overcome. Cheers!

Sorry to say but here in india... education just means to learn English... in india people get dominated by not knowing a foreign language. And let me clear the statement that we live in that type of country where talking about sex or anything related to it called taboo. I still remember that when i was in 10th and when the reproduction chapter came in line for teaching by my teacher. You won't believe that she just read the lines and completed it. Even educated people feel disgusting taking a condoms from the store. We are in that much high case that now gov/ even we have to take steps and tell people about it. Thank you for the good exploration of this problem.
Population is the absolute root cause of all problems in the Indian sub-continent region which includes Pakistan and Bangladesh. The population of the combined subcontinent was 400M at Independence. Now it is greater than 1500M. Nearly a 4x increase in span of 7 decades. The dynamics have gone outside the parameters of natural sustainability. I have lost my sleep over this problem since 10-15 years. I have tried to think of all solutions to this. Ultimately I have come to a conclusion that only nature will take care of it and it is going to be very very ugly and painful. The reason being, only an grass-roots efforts can solve this problem. The government and corporations are against any solutions since it is in direct conflict of interest for them. And after getting a pulse from the common man, nobody even realizes that population is the core of all problems and everybody wants to just creating children. I am very very sad, that when nature re-adjusts it will be very drastic and by the time it happens all the natural resources in India would have got depleted completely. I predict that India will be civil-war zone like some African countries by 2050-60. We might see something of Mad-Maxian worlds. I only pray that the beauty of this land gets somehow saved by some miracle.

Your area comparison with China is flawed because 2/3rd of China is barren & semi-arid wasteland. Most of China's population is concentrated on the fertile east coast and thus has higher population density than India.
If you go by fertile land availability, India has the most arable land area in the world even though it is many times smaller than top 6 countries. Most of India's land is fertile & livable, while that's not the case with others.
Large population uneducated is the problem, China tackled this problem 30 years ago, not only demographic structure has been changed but also the mentalities and social values. The education is not only important in people's words but also in their action, they valued this so much and invested tremendously on this aspect, so only in one generation, you can see the change

Rahul Sharma Those kind of people might be anti-nationals or terrorists and might also be some normal residents who are disappointed in the country's laws and orders, societies, judiciary systems, poor lifestyles, political tensions for a long time they might also be provoked by some political parties too to create a tension for the sake of vote banks. You would never know what is actually up there and what is actually in their mind unless you are judging them through a neutral media which is hard to find in India because the whole system is corrupted. Everyone wants to make money out of these vast number of people in India who are quite manipulative. The thing is India is going through its courses to be a better nation but people need to be open minded. Any kind of political, regional or religious bias could lead to a shit hole like pakistan. And freedom of speech in India is quite poor if you don't know. If you follow the Article 19 in The Constitution of India 1949 you would find that technically free speech and free expressions are allowed in india but there are so many loop holes to restrain you from actually speaking freely. Although Indian 'Netas' violated these rules for years and got away with it, average people in India could get jailed or fined over violation of these Article.

Rahul Sharma These are just propagandas that are not proved yet but if you are talking about foreign money controlling and manipulating a state's regime then I'll tell you it happens in every corner of the world. And the family you mentioned that enslaved Indian people for 60 years is the same family that led India to freedom not by force( which was not adequate in a war with Brits) but by those cunning people. If you can't fight it by might you should fight it by brain. That doesn't mean we should allow another family to enslave us again. The family which is now claiming these things about the previous family had no contribution to the freedom of India, they just betrayed their own countrymen afaik. The family that is running India now has become the richest party in India in just 4 years. The 60 years you mentioned were not glorious for us but atleast the foundation of a democratic country was enhanced upon that time. People in India were not as dumb as you would think they were quite aware of what the then party was doing. They were just not satisfied with the results so they changed the ruling party several times but if you know, nothing was changed. Everything was same as it was. Though Brits ruled India for 200 years and people were tortured during that period atleast they built the foundation of the country that were later enhanced. You can't just give all your faith to one source and ignore the others completely. And Indians are tolerant, kind, polite, caring but they are easily manipulated which can be cured by proper education which is not present in India. Have a good day!
