Until recently, I had never even really considered P-90s. Now they're definitely on the priority list. I'm starting to think that they might be the most versatile pickup style. Nice playing by you both, as always.
Ever since I started to watch your show you have had your guitar and it is always the best sounding guitar. Persoanlly i actually love the style of bridge / trem on this guitar i hate floating trems that the moment you breath on them they take the guitar out of tune. The power on the P-90s always impresses and there is just never a bad tone with this. Personally not a fan of the colour but thats it everything else is amazing love it.
7:40 - Without wanting to fall down the “magnetic pull/1 pick up is best” Rabbit-hole… more and more I’ve been thinking that the only real world difference between most guitars, with the near identical pick up models for bridge and neck, that any change in the sound you can get from a neck pick up could be replicated by a tone control anyway! PLUS IF you really need that dark a tone at the flick of a switch than the bridge pick up could easily be attached to a one or more position switch that simply added capacitors that would darken the bridge pick up into neck pick up territory anyway IMHO
I was interested to hear that Fano is still going. I had thought/assumed when Fano started his Rivolta brand that was the end of these. I've enjoyed Gabor playing it for quite some time now and definitely like the look. My only issue is that the pups are 'very' hot & I think that likely effects its versatility. Albeit only one concern here, it's a rather big issue, if the pups are so hot in terms of this guitar's versatility. I typically tend to prefer Gabor's jazzpartsmastercaster 😅 Cheers fellas. 😎👍
Hi, loved this video so much that I’ve just purchased a second hand MG6. The pickups were set really high when I purchased. I lowered them and the tone improved drastically. I’d love to know how you have your pickups set, as I cannot find any information online as to recommended heights
Great video. You guys should check out the Fano Omnis GF6. I’ve got one and it’s awesome, tho I’m gonna swap out the factory pickups for WR CuNiFe ones from Fender to complete the Starcaster vibe 🤣
It's a fabulous looking and sounding guitar! I really wish they'd release a 24" scale length version, but oh well, it's still very cool!

Love the sound of a P-90, that guitar definitely sounds killer! Off to watch your Old School Reverb review, hope you both are doing well. Cheers!

Even more important than Rivolta is Fano's new-ish "made in usa" brand called Novo... Each guitar is custom.
