As much as i would love to open a store and sell locally, i dont know if I could or would want to deal with theft and confrontation. I think I would just sell online at this point.
ehhhh idk. It was across state lines and the Vancouver PD didn't have jurisdiction to go to an Oregon store and do anything. It was kind of lame, but that was a long time ago
Sucks, but they also paid $ to acquire it from someone that had stolen the goods. If they gave it up for $0, they'd be losing money at that point so while it sucks you can understand why they at least put that out there as an option.
@@DoubleJumpVideoGames same thing happened out here where I live to a local store, their storage got broken into, they found the items and the other store said "well, get bent I guess" and marked everything way up.
Your guys idea is the best one I think. Have the friend return him the money, then give you back the money to get his 3ds back. Thieves aren't just stealing stuff. They're stealing the time you spent at work, X2 because you need to save up to buy it again. That is stealing your time, which is stealing hours/days/weeks worth of your life away. This is why we need to have very little mercy for thieves. They're not just stealing "stuff" they're stealing time/life, which is supposed to be our most precious snd important thing.
You have to watch it with these types of people. I've had people through Facebook marketplace sell me something and then have their relatives say it was stolen and that it was theirs. These same people threaten to call the cops on me saying that they had the serial numbers for that system. I told them that I'm already going to the police (which I did). And I also told them if they wanted their item back then they would have to press charges against their relative or else it's not considered stolen. Magically they stopped responding.
It might be worth putting a sign on the door stating stolen items not welcome. They will go elsewhere. Especially because this current group of thieves seem to be targeting your store.
If you don't do this already this could be a good idea. Whenever someone trades something in take a picture of their ID and keep a record of what they traded in with serial numbers etc. That way if it pops up as stolen you can locate where it came from. A store close to me shut down for a year because they bought stolen goods(not knowing obv) so I feel like these types of precautions need to take place to protect yourself.
We take ID for every trade we do, and serial numbers are logged for all consoles, but most other items don't have serial numbers, like games or accessories
Has a person who's worked in a game store and many retail places I've come across things like that alot sadly and that's when you first opened up I mentioned getting cameras and such and I'm glad you finally did has even the best places have jerks etc
The real chump is the theif that sold your stolen stuff not the store who unknowingly purchased your stolen stuff. It is only right they break even what they paid if you really wanted it back. You do however have legal action against the person who originally stole your stuff
The 007 game! Never finished it Unfortunately we got stuck at a part and we were only allowed to get a new game when we finished a game and I couldn’t figure out how to do it!! 😂😂
Do all mystery box purchases make it into the vlog? I'm considering buying one for my twins birthday and it would be cool to show them you guys putting it together.
Those are terrible binders to put cards in, because of the O ring they will dent the cards. you need a D ring or a ringless. Just some advice from someone who ran a card shop.
Speaking as someone who likes to buy a lot of pokemon cards from my local gamestore... I really like it when the cards are grouped by year and sets... because I may be missing like 10-20 cards of various price points from a set but it's really hard and time consuming to find them flipping endlessly in a binder... but if it's like here's the neo discovery section, here's the base 2 section, here's the Aquapolis section and there's the fossil section... it's easy to see if you have the cards I need and to pick them out and buy them. Just my opinion. Definitely keep the higher value stuff out on display in toploaders, but even there you could try to group them together by sets. Base Set holos, jungle, base 2, fossil, rocket, gym heroes...
Yep drugs will do that to people…I recently bought some Gamecube stuff off a lady and got a call from the police a couple days later as it had got reported stolen. Turns out it was two drug addict roommates feuding with each other. The red flags were there but I was blinded by a copy of Pokémon Colosseum 😅 …I had to turn it all over to the police, lesson learned
It sounds to me like those Jack asses were trying to scam you. Simply put the goods in your cases and sell them. Don’t let your kindness go beyond your wisdom.
You guys need to figure out the pawn laws where you are. Most places the store gets paid by the victim to get their stuff back and then they can go after the thief for that money
heres what id do.. and itd be a good way to figure out the truth. tell him if he wants it back for free he has to file a police report and report it stolen. because you guys paid for it, its technically yours, and not oficially stolen merchandise unless its reported to the police.. if theyre not in on it together he shouldnt have any problem reporting it stolen. if he has a warrant it wont matter anyway, hell get picked up and sent to jail anyway.
That is likely a scam.. he told you guys it was stolen.. but no police report. The only thing that makes me doubt it.. is how stupid of a scam it is. But you know..

We are turning a bad situation into an engaging youtube video. How dare we get some sort of silver lining out of a crappy thing that happened at our store.
These video titles are becoming stupid, especially because I’m a subscriber. Does your analytics tell you people will watch the entire video if you say at the beginning, “we’ll talk about that later “?
Whats the issue exactly? The title is about the "biggest" or "most interesting thing" in the video (like its always been), and we are just telling people, within the first 10 seconds, that we will be delivering on the title later in the video.

It's only illegal to sell stolen goods if they file a police report I'm pretty sure

The Mystery Box stuff is my new favorite, keep showing 'em. and plushie hauls are the coolest!
Wave Race is my FAVORITE arcade machine next to Crazy Taxi😅❤
This happens a lot at walmart. Stolen goods returned with someone elses receipt
Sorry to hear about those nasty people. A big local retro game store in my town closed shop because people kept stealing. Very sad.
That sucks
Wave Race was my fav N64 game. It was way too much fun. Schoolwork took a backseat to that game.
