We had a similar indoor snow slope in Adelaide, South Australia in the late 80s. It was part of an ice skating complex. Tons of fun and especially great to learn skiing before your first time on a real mountain. It’s how I learned, then when I got to the closest ski mountain (10 hrs derive away) I could just go for it without worrying how to turn and stop etc. Good stuff!

Yeah, if it's winter and you live within driving distance of a mountain, then definitely go to one. But this could be pretty fun on a hot summer day. Probably hard to get tickets then though.
Currently, it probably not best to go since the trail seems plain and flat. However, they have still to implement all the specifics trail they are promising, once that happens I think $50 is reasonable with gear.
We have an indoor ski slope here in New Zealand. Not quite as grand but is also a lot cheaper. Imo it's pretty cool. Great for most of the year when there is no snow but isnt as good as the real deal. Like they said it's mostly just good for being able to practice before the mountains open for it.

It will be pretty interesting in the summer when you can ride the slope in the morning, check out the water park in the afternoon, and then ride the amusements after dinner, all while it's 80°+ outside. Have to wait to see if they can actually make a profit after all the maintenance and utilities though.

There is special carpet you can line a ski hill with that allows for skiing in the summer. That would be more cost effective. Kind of a waste of energy, drill baby drill I guess.

Also, from the top of breck it can take 45 mins to hit the bottom, just depends on your pace. Also every day pass in the midwest is around the $50 range. Sure I exaggerated a little on 45 mins. I also get ski lift ticket discounts from ski shops and other various hookups, but that's not what this article stated. This is equivalent of a ticket window walk up price and it's in the middle of one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the entire country. Where else in the continental US can you go skiing in August and September besides possibly A-Basin?
Does your mountain work the other half of the year? But I agree that it's probably not worth it during the winter if you have any decent experience behind you.
Indoor surfing is same price for like 15 minutes. I guess this wins that scenario. In the area that this is located this is actually cheap. Some of the beaches in that area have a cover charge of around $10 which should be free since the city didn't make the beach. 🤷♂️
It's funny they put in a ski lift, that money would of been better spent on making it bigger. Could of just put in a couple elevators and made it twice as long and made the slope >. I work in the ski lift industry and they aren't cheap.
This mall has been under-construction for over a decade, and has been through multiple owners. I doubt missing one holiday shopping season is gonna do it any worse.

TJ Tan sometimes when we ski/snowboard too fast our eyes gets dry so we have to use them when we’re going fast. I was snowboarding so fast once indoors (not here somewhere else) that my contact lenses nearly fell out (they were half out). My goggles saved the day
I live in southern Bergen county. I was totally against this project from the very beginning, when it was called Xanadu. I just can't wait until all the stores and the waterpark open. Traffic in the area is going to be insane. Like we need more congestion in this area. The stupid company is from Canada, so what they care. It's all about money and greed. Who cares about the environment and quality of life. Sorry to say, but I hope this whole thing fails.
