Hi Marcus, I recently watched the video. With your expertise in Quartz Cuckoo Clock (sliding singing cuckoo) and with my experience with possession of a few (seven) I have some technical questions - which perhaps you can help me with. As you have mentioned (8:30), when I found that the Cuckoo was not sliding out but singing at the strike of hour, with impression that the existing batteries having gone low, I replaced with new ones. However, it did not resolve the issue. So, opening it up, I found that the motor with worm gear responsible for sliding the Cuckoo is only making revolution to retract the Cuckoo and not rotating when it is time for it to slide out. The doors are opening out smoothly. Upon further checking, I found that the motor runs both directions when powered in either direction after isolating it from the existing circuit. So, I am guessing that one of the transistors (acting as directional H-Bridge) on the PCB control board is not working properly. Do you recommend any spare parts to fix it? Thanks, Neil
Hello Neil, i would contact the manufator directly, if they have any spare units. Could also be that chaning a complet unit is easier for them. Cheers Markus

My cuckkoo does not go back inside, though it is clocking time correctly. I have not been able to spot PUSH button on the watch. I have changed the batteries within two months. Any suggestions or solution for this please.
Hello, if you only have the clock a few months, please contact the store where you made the purchase. On a battery one, it also can depend on the manufactor.
@@steinsandclocks thanks, I actually ended up buying a Trenkle clock, the railroad style one you have to the right of the white painted one up high. It’s very pretty but glad I could turn off the music. I wanted a mechanical clock but my cat probably would play with the long winding chains and make it fall off the wall.

Gerade auf den Plattformen werde diese oft als Schwarzwalduhr angeboten, weil sie so aussehen, wurde aber nicht da hergestellt.
Hello realsushrey, the mechanical cuckoo clocks all have a leaver where they can be turned of. The battery ones, (most of them) have a light senor built in. So if no light effects the sensor, the clock will be silent ;) cheers Markus

How can you bypass/disable the light sensor on a Quartz Cuckoo clock? The clock will only chime if I point a flashlight bean at the sensor.
