I’m the design release engineer for the radars (super cruise, alert brake, side blind zone alert, etc). I’m driving the SUT right now. Fair and good review 👍
I mean you can go pay $8000 to $12,000 for FSD from Tesla vs $20 a month for this after having it free for 3 years, do the monthly breakdown on that. LOL
I do kinda dig this monstrosity… but for now, I’ll stick to my A3 etron and get the best of both EV and petrol until the charging infrastructure is built out further.
This guy doesn't have a hummer and obviously dont have 3 rental properties. He obviously can't afford either but yet he's commenting on things he's never going to get. Moron.
This thing needs three times the battery capacity of a Tesla Model Y to get about the same range. That's crazy. I like the look of it, but it would take you forever to charge this at home...what is the charging speed of the Hummer on a DC charger?
@gonzokryllake4587 With the Pick up truck - I charged with an Alptronic HYC400 in Scranton, PA yesterday (opening day at Ionna) peaked at 386KW and stayed above 300KW to about 76% with a pre-conditioned battery. At home I have the EVSE set for 80 amp giving 19KW. What is crazier I can tow that same Model Y and not notice it while driving. With my V2V adapter I can fully charge that stranded Model Y at 7 KW and still make it back home with that same battery.
Lots of them around me lately. I have owned the original Hummer H2s both the pickup and suv and I am personally not a fan of the Hummer layout. I would be more likely to get an Escalade IQ or Vistiq.
@@ShelbyChurchagreed. The one control that drives me nuts in the Tesla in temp control. And it’s always moving around with updates. Other than that I’d go with a Tesla. Especially with the lower cost models in Y and 3.
Shelby, Did you find out how to put the panels in the truck? Really nice video and it's so relaxing seeing a professional make videos that pop! Thank you!
A true SUV is built on a truck chassis, so driving wise they should feel the same. I’m not sure I understand the comment that it feels/drives more like truck than an SUV. Crossovers are build on a sedan chassis, somewhere between being feeling like a mini suv or really a sedan with a hatchback.
The Hummer EV is closer to what regular cars are on the road now so people are more comfortable with it. It's more familiar. Tesla tried to create something new that bucks the traditional way of mobility thus why it's so Polarizing.
I currently drive a Nissan Rogue. I prefer bigger vehicles such as SUVs; the biggest I've driven was a Sprinter Utility truck. From what I've heard, Teslas are the more reliable EVs. Haven't driven one myself yet but eventually one day. Apple IOS is absolutely an easy system than Android Lol. My mom finds the cyber truck interesting.
I absolutely love my Rivian R1S but I would trade it in for a Hummer SUV when they have 400mi of range, NACS and ideally better software. I think the Hummer just looks so badass. It's weird because you're paying a lot more for so much less, as the Rivian is much more luxurious, but still the convertible feature of the Hummer is awesome and it just looks so cool. You also didn't try a U-turn in a Hummer, I hear you can go from a left lane to a left lane thanks to 4-wheel turning.
After you edit a video, did it turn out how you visualized before you finished the video? I make videos and sometimes it turns out totally different how I visualized it.
I made a brief comparison and this seems very expensive. For example Ford F-150 Lightning starts around $40k. If I had to choose ev to buy right now it would probably be Lucid Air.
I wish you would have discussed the sustainability and safety of these massive vehicles. They are a huge waste of resources compared to smaller EVs and they create unsafe roads for pedestrians and cyclists.
Wait, they cost over $40 to charge?? That's what a tank of gas costs in my car. I'm genuinely confused, I thought EVs were meant to be cheaper to run? Was considering them for that reason as a next car. Also, Shelby just wondering if you would consider a review of the Mustang EV? Have seen a few around lately and they're so nice looking, but I don't think as good as Tesla (I'm one of those who doesn't want to support Elon lol, so always interested in alternatives).
Those Roof panels are Very Similar to My 1986 Chevy iroc Z-28 T-Tops. i Mean like almost Exactly the same. Too Funny ! Both Gm Products. Very Easy to Remove & Replace after you do it a few times. takes Me about 60 seconds to Remove or install T-Tops in my iroc.
I’ve only owned an EV for two months now, but I can say that 300 miles of range is the absolute minimum I want on an EV. 500 is still where I would prefer to have the range of my vehicle. It just reduces the amount of times I need to concern myself with figuring out where and when to charge.
I have seen like 15 of these - all sitting on the dealer lot. I don't think I have ever seen one actually driving around... I wish GM the best - but this isn't it IMO.
Hard pass for me, especially for the convertible. I've had a convertible before and it was loud. It also started to leak in water around the seal. Also, I don't like GM's tech. It's nowhere near Tesla's tech.
Cannot stand the cyber truck. Like a bunch of guys who think they can get laid by having one. lol whenever I see one. I personally like Rivian and would need the extra range because I need to be able to drive to Las Vegas from the south bay and cannot stand having to stop and charge along the way. And yes I am a princess and proud of it he he. I have an 2015 Audi Q5 and I love that car, have been holding off getting an electric so I can buy a Q5 electric and I can make it to Vegas on a full charge. Hopefully just a few more years and the batteries will be good enough for more regular cars to be converted more easily.
You cannot beat over 100+ years of experience from GM models like the Hummer over a startup company like Tesla who does not know what is a car and try to built a pickup truck from grade school educated designers that looks like a grade school crayon drawing. GM has the EV technology that probably 100 years aged of Tesla too!😊
nice video as always . the road noise has improved compared to t he 2024 model I really hope gm works on the UI and also allows to record all the angles on a SD or USB like tesla sentry mode ..

People act like you're going to be clicking buttons all day long. I use the steering wheel buttons very often though, but for the main screen, no big deal.
I get it that most of the time you don’t drive more than 300 miles But if you drive SF->LA once a month, you wouldn’t make it without charging in the middle of the way. And also you have to find a place to leave it charging at your travel destination. Speaking from a perspective of having a single car in a family
