How I did mine was two sheets of the thermal wrap stuck together then covered both sides with the black 4 way stretch carpet and then black gaffa tape around the edges. This makes it look even more stealth as from the outside the windows just look black and not all the shiny foil making it look less obvious someone is camping inside 👍
Exactly how I did my window covers although mine are not so neat! After testing them out, I've decided to put black something or other to face out so it looks more like tinted windows and hopefully more stealthy looking. I got myself some 'slide over the door' sunshady cover thingumybobs so I can crack the windows open at night but keep the bugs out when the lights are on. My next purchase will be deflectors for the windows to do the same and keep rain out. Great vids, keep em comin'!
Brilliant, and thank you for showing your mistakes too so I can avoid them. I too have watched umpty gazillion vids on this. One other showed the person just tracing the reflectix (what we call it over here) right on the window and I thought "Hey! Why on earth WOULD you make a template when you can just do that?" Thanks again for taking the time to make this. I've got all the stuff, just gotta get brave this weekend and start cutting things up. Currently trying to decide between fabric and black foam board for the reverse side.
I made mine using a yoga mat. Seriously. It completely blocks out the light, it's easy to cut, it's firm yet flexible, it's soft and insulated, and condensation doesn't wreck it because it's made to withstand sweat. Also maybe a thick tarp would be a good material to use too?
Much obliged for this idea. Instead of leaving the insulation by themselves, I used black poster boards facing the interior. They popped in like a glove, just be sure to include a hook at the center to easily pop them out.
I hang a Large towel across the Headrest. It gives airflow and still gives me privacy. If someone get to close Rex can pop up and quietly bark and get my attention.
So did you just give your make and model to get the proper measurements or did you pre measure? Do you have the website you used and was it hard to install the tint? Thanks
Loving your channel. Found it in the last few days. As for possible spots for you. Nice few spots in the Brecon Beacons here in South Wales. May I pop Lyn y fan fach as a possible suggestion. Lovely short loop taking in the small glacia lake and large mountain bowl. Loving the channel 👍👍👍
Thanks very much, this helped me a lot. I've been screwing around for 4 days now to get my Mitusbishi Space Star windows blacked out, the results were poor and I got some proper tantrums. 😂
Put an edging of black tape to increase size of your mistake and it bends into the crevice to secure. As another poster said, make a tape "grab" Tab so easy to get out!
Hi. Thanks for the vid. I thought you said you were going to do another vid showing how you created a blackout curtain car divider? Can you send me a link pls as can't find it :-)
I'm struggling with making templates currently. I'm over it! I'm going to follow your example! I thought of doing it in the first place. Americans have an expression... "Kiss" Keep it simple stupid " haha Brilliant job! Thanks for the permission to bypass the BS
I am in the process of making some I only need two though because I have a cargo van and the back glass is already blacked out. I'm going to make mine with clips on the top of them like some modified paper clips or something.
I'm not sure yet but I think I'll get some reflectix and some black material and have somebody sew it together for me I'm going to have one side be the same color as my interior they will be nice though.
I love your content and vibe holy shit looool.. was looking on how to do this for my self! Cheers from the US! you're so funny for no reason,, subbed and liked!
I use a hatchback for work and I wana take the back seats out. I’m gona use this to cover the windows. Gona put two layers, one in front and one behind a piece of plastic corex. And use some foil tape to stop it coming off. Thanks for the idea. Can I just ask if it stays in place well enough?
Wow don't you look young .I'm from the future you look alot older now 😅 lol Ps just bought a vauxhall combo so was interested in window blinds good vid
I love the black fabric tip! We are planning on using for camping etc and we considered doing a blackout fabric on an extendable curtain rail to go behind the front seats - not sure if it will work, id anybody can see my comment who has done, please let me know?
ive found that all mine stay up by themselves with no suction cups as most my windows have a little recesses that the thermawrap slots in then i go round the rest of it and finger it into the groves around the window if you get what i mean, i dont use anything on my front window though as i now have curtains but would imagine u would need suction cups for that
@Lindalick65 phew just got home facebook.com/wanderingwhere heres my facebook page 😀 i post a few bits on here, pics and the odd vid clip that doesnt make it to youtube

yeh its that silver shinny look i want to get rid of
@@wanderingwhere My window covers the same as yours. I just taped one side of my covers with strips of black tape (couple of quids at Home Bargins)
Black does absorb more heat from the sun though. So that's the negative of the stealth look.
Curious to know what black, 4 way carpet is?
@@XabooAlexIt's that carpet you can lay in vans or SUV's. Comes in a roll. 👍🏼
I live in the US and could listen to you talk allll day and night. 🔥 awesome tips by the way! Going to #Stealth my Prius tonight ✅ Thank you!

cut to size from out side of car like they do with tint
Not how car window tinting is done.
My favorite so far! Plus, the most personable and entertaining 😊

couple of ppl havementioned making them out of those i really should try
Great idea!
The silver works well in the summer, reflects the sun and keeps the interior cool 👍🏻🇬🇧
"Folding an ancient Japanese sword" that's is exactly the background music for such a task 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 good one sir!
Mate, you're a life saver! I was wondering how to blacken out my windows and your video just popped up lol Good stuff!
Much obliged for this idea. Instead of leaving the insulation by themselves, I used black poster boards facing the interior. They popped in like a glove, just be sure to include a hook at the center to easily pop them out.
Thanks for this it's exactly how I'd do it. Hopefully it'll work out for me. I'd like ti see how you plan to hang the blackout curtains
Thanks mate I was looking for this video
I hang a Large towel across the Headrest. It gives airflow and still gives me privacy. If someone get to close Rex can pop up and quietly bark and get my attention.
I bought custom cut tint on-line and they are the perfect temp plate. Cost US $40. Totally worth it.
So did you just give your make and model to get the proper measurements or did you pre measure? Do you have the website you used and was it hard to install the tint? Thanks
Where ?
Great tips thanks and in the Zafira which I’m just converting at the moment.
Have you got other videos on the Zafira ta bud
You don't need tape? They cling right on?
Loving your channel. Found it in the last few days.

Welcome mate and big thanks for the suggestion definitely putting that on the list sounds pretty epic 👍
Absolutely loving the content. Definately be following from now on. Safe nights and great hikes 👍👍👍

Wouldn't foil tape have fixed the little mess ups?

I wonder if that could tuck in behind the plastic with pallet knife?
Brilliant video, all the detail but also concise, thanks for uploading.

This is so simple and beginner friendly!!!
You did good. I’m trying to do this too. I’ve got a bit of a gap too so I get it
Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
no problem hope it helps 👍

Yeh they stay in place urll find there gaps they slot into so make them oversized and trimm accordingly as u test and retest the size and shape
0:54 was not expecting that music my man lmao
Perfect 👍 exactly what I was looking for, ta.
20 minute job and ur away 😀
Thanks. great job. Appreciate the tips about how not to do it too. V cool.
I have no nay ever heard of rexaflix which comes n big roles and is far too expensive for my needs. Great to see something different
👍yeh cheap and does the job
Brilliant. Well done. Would Velcro work on the front window to hold the covers in place?
I use a bit of the sides to gold them in place but didn't want a big strip across the top of my roof
Loved the music 😆 thanks 🙏🏼
You were born to do this 👌
2:10 that can be ur vent OR just add black duct tape to the top and bottom as extenders.
Thanks fella 👍 really helpful 👌👍
😅 Lol cracking up over your comment of the Oriental music 😅
how do those look from the outside? I wouldn't want to attract attention by having all my windows look silver/reflective
ive sprayed them black since this, had exactly the same thought, bit obvious, now black cant really be seen
Hello Kitty sheets ftw!!! >^._.∞^
how do you breathe?
Helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video👌
Hope it helps 🙏 ... sometimes the simple option is the easiest and best u could always upgrade late 😀
If you spray paint other side black will it still be noticeable?
do u mean are they less noticeable yes, ive sprayed them after this video, black on the outside and coloured on the in
@@wanderingwhere yea thats what i mean. appreciate it bro!
yeh they can be a bit shiny otherwise 👍
Nice one Adam 👍
Thanks

Slow on the stand up on the way to gander,, attle do err' attle do err' everr time. 😂😂😂
How do they stick on the windows?
they kinda tuck in between the glass and the door body work its why they need to be a bit oversized
I love the black fabric tip! We are planning on using for camping etc and we considered doing a blackout fabric on an extendable curtain rail to go behind the front seats - not sure if it will work, id anybody can see my comment who has done, please let me know?
Yes, it works fine!
Glue the black material to it
What MM thickness did you use?
not 100% but i think 3mm
Hi, how did you stick it to window? Does it stay up by itself? 3:22 suction cups. 0:23 Thermawrap.
ive found that all mine stay up by themselves with no suction cups as most my windows have a little recesses that the thermawrap slots in then i go round the rest of it and finger it into the groves around the window if you get what i mean, i dont use anything on my front window though as i now have curtains but would imagine u would need suction cups for that
How did you fit your front windows for curtains? Thanks
No need for tape?
no they stay in ok
Should have used a bit of cardboard could have got some boxes free from the supermarket
I couldn't find you on facebook. Did you close that account ?
Haven't closed it, it wandering where with the same pic, I'm home later I will send u the link, or its on the homepage of this channel I think

I have this for a Skoda Octavia. And made a flat floor. I don't own the car anymore. anyone want it they can have it
I used black tape in strips to make them look black. And the front window has a curtain I made from. A black bed sheet
Do funny what you daid about your music!!! Lol
Jeeeez its 20 quid a roll now hahahahaha
Lol yeh saw that just bought some myself seems it got popular
For about 13 quin that’s a steal
Could you black spray paint the foil? or do you think in the sun the paint could come off and stick to the window? just a thought
i actually have its not perfect doesnt come off on the window but does wear off slowly but no big deal a little touch up here and there is no bother
