How does the break in freestyle work? Sometimes I see it sometimes I don’t. I know the timing may be off due to editing and such.

From 15U - Seniors by rule, there is a 30-second break between periods. I haven't seen a clock that counts down at these non-trials, non-international events, so the time can vary a bit.
