Very interesting and coincidental project you have here good friend. I was second owner of an 87 CVX 18 with a 5.7 MAG Mercury Mercruiser Bravo One Drive. Started restoration only to find the flooring as well as most likely the original hull stringers were rotted. Ran her as is until a family member w/o permission ran the drive aground and damaged the drive and coupler almost to a total. Very fast lil " James Bond" go fast. 68 mph. Wisely sold but sadly missed. Another time I'll share my current restoration project. Living in Maine our seasons are much shorter than yours. Enjoy
I've been watching the jmink channel Glasstron restoration vids. Glad I found this, too. Ran into an issue removing the cap on my '76 Glasspar: it's also glued between the transom and the cap (under where the outboard mounts). UGH. This part of the project is definitely taking longer than I had expected!
When i first saw inside this boat, I knew that you would end up with just a hull. Its what i would have done as well to be honest, But mostly because i have seen a few of your videos, and can tell that anything less than perfect would be unacceptable...
I admire your determination and fortitude as well as your skill. I don't know where you find the free time. Wife, kids, house, job? Good luck
