In the broken cityscape of Kabul Afghanistan, amid the dust and rubble of ... all » war, Westerners and Afghans adjust to the uncertain possibilities of peace. Kabul Transit shuttles through the broken streets of the city, moving between public space and private, listening in on conversations, posing questions, probing the darker alleys mainstream media avoids. The result is a unique cinematic experience -- a shifting mosaic of encounters and raconteurs, captured glances and telling gestures, all beautifully shot and woven together by the music and the found sounds of a city sluggishly coming to life. Rejecting the usual device of narration and portraiture, the film asks the viewer to experience Kabul as a newly arrived visitor would -- with a freshness born of apprehension on finding oneself in a place that is at once hauntingly strange and altogether familiar.

I havent seen Afghanistan for 20 years now, I was 7 years old when we left the country.Hopefully with gods will when I go back I will visit some zikrkhana and places where you can sit with the soefis, darwishiha and our qalandari brothers.I ve lived all my life as a european but deep inside I feel a faqeer who is waiting to go back where I belong.

(the freed slave of Ibn ‘Abbas) Ibn ‘Abbas told me, “In the lifetime of the Prophet it was the custom to celebrate Allah’s praises aloud after the compulsory congregational prayers.” Ibn ‘Abbas further said, “When I heard the Dhikr, I would learn that the compulsory congregational prayer had ended.”

Quran 25:30. And the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'ân."

We were with Malik while he was surrounded by his companions, when a man belonging to the people of Nasibin said: “There is a group of people among us called Sufis. They eat excessively, then they begin to sing, and then they get up and dance.”
Malik asked him: “Are they children?”
The man replied: “No.”
Malik asked: “Are they insane?”
The man replied: “No. They are a group of mashayikh [religious scholars] and other intelligent people.”
Malik replied: “I have never heard of anyone from the people of Islam doing such a thing.”
The man said: “But these people eat, and then get up and dance tirelessly, some of them striking their heads, and some striking their faces.”
Hearing this, Malik laughed, then rose and went inside his house.
The companions of Malik said to the man: “Verily you have brought bad omen to our companion. We have been in his company for more than thirty years, and we never saw him laugh until this day.”

SAHABA had quoted multiple occasions where other SAHABA in RASOOL Allah's (S.a.W) gatherings like these swung as if they were trees during the storms . And some used to rise up a start whirling in a circle in MASJID-E-Nabvi Shareef . And Quran says regarding this "When they hear our Ayaat , their hearts startle with Allah's power and fear and their skins begin to shiver and dance "

I think that is a bit much. Allah doesn't want people to lose themselves in the middle of his remembrance. But I do admire the devotion. I just don't think they way they are doing it is healthy for the mind, body, and soul.
