Good Job Sophia! Yes I have a hard time getting rid of stuff because of what I spent on it too! However, I try to look at it this way… I don’t blink and eye about going out to dinner and spending $50, $75 or more. I ate it, I enjoyed it but I do not try to hold on to the dinner forever! It’s goes down the toilet literally lol! Why do we (including myself) beat ourselves up about getting rid of stuff we spent money on? We enjoyed it for the time we used it now we need to let it go. We most likely got our money’s worth of it by now! I’m still working on that one but it’s becoming easier. Also use it or lose it is a good motto! 💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜
garage sale those glass pyrex. without lid people use them as mixing bowls, serving bowls & put stretchy lids on them. you did so good! my husband keeps telling me stop moving stuff!! from decluttering/reorganizing the kitchen.
It’s hard to turn loose of the pretty things! You made a lot of decisions. I don’t listen to the “money wasted” comments. One could say that about any purchase that you eventually declutter. But, it really depends on what your money did with each particular purchase. Made you happy? Taught you a lesson? Who cares? It’s better to turn it loose than to store it. Great video! 👍🏼👍🏼
First I have to say I love that you use your China. And you finally let go of the Temptations! (Yes I have been watching your videos for a long time 😊). The onion method seems to be your style of decluttering (in layers/over time) and it works really well. I also loved how you talked your way through this process. All very valid points ! And I’m also a big fan of CorningWare ❤️
You're right: it's about the process, not the event. I think you did a darn good job discerning what serves you and your family. I'm going to rewatch this when I go through my kitchen cabinets because I know I've got items I loved and used at one time but don't any longer. Thanks for the nudge I needed, Sophia! 😘
To be real: my Mum bought me a lovely Villeroy & Boch set for my marriage that was in cupboards for years. After my divorce I said: no… I am using it now. I love it and it reminds me of the most beautiful person on earth so I want the positive vibes every day. And the other stuff… it’s slowly getting out of my house instead of making me feel guilty of having it and not using it. Ça suffit… if I love it and I use it it has purpose to be in my house, if not it will have a purpose in someone else’s life. Way to go Sophia… t’es notre championne!
You are so right I had bought so much stuff when I was younger. I have found out that I really only need to keep what I use. I think it’s awesome that you are letting people know it’s a process and it’s your decision no one else’s.
My opinion is if you are not at least 80% sure on something keep it for the next decluttering ... It doesn't matter what someone else is saying.. it's all about how you feel
Re your conversation at the end,all of the factors that you mentioned are true, plus it depends on the stage of life you are in. For example newlywed entertaining, young children, empty nest, retirement, widowhood. I’m 63 and I’m done being the one to host all of the showers, etc. It’s time to let the 35 year olds do it,I’ll even give them my punch bowl!😅😂🤣
It is amazing at the progress that you have made in decluttering. I have watched you agonize over things that I would have quickly thrown away but you needed to hold tightly to them. With each declutter you breathe easier. So nice to see your growth.
Great video Sophia! You made some hard decisions but cleared lots of space. I loved the TED talk at the end...lol! Also... GOOD ON YOU offering to help the entrepreneurs that watch your channel and giving them a boost. More of us should be so willing and eager to give others a hand! 👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Sophia, you did a good job 👏 it's difficult especially if you liked something, I agree if it's not been used why keep, however I feel its a waste of money if not used and just sitting in a cupboard so definitely pass it on to someone who will use it 😊
I decluttered when we had a new kitchen installed in order to create space without stacking too many items. Now, three years later, I am going through my cabinets again to remove items we really do not use anymore. Most of our large family events are now held in my daughters' homes so not so many serving pieces are necessary, but I am keeping mainly clear glass items for serving.
You are inspiring indeed. I'm looking at my stacks of bowls--all thrift store finds--and am ready to donate them. Plastic storage containers are the biggest mess! Be gone.
So proud of you! I'm hoping your smart decisions will rub off on me for my hard decisions. For some reason your videos have been more inspirational for me than other people on UA-cam. So I'm watching a few of your videos then I work on things in my house then I go back to your videos and then over again.
My rule is if I haven’t used it in a year thenI probably never will. That goes for clothing as well. Unless its an heirloom that I love. My uncluttered home is more important to me than things I don’t use. 🥰
You did such an amazing job Sophia! I was sure you were going to cave and keep the Temptation set, but then you realized that you really didn't need them and you made up your mind! Thank you for talking through your process. I found that very helpful.
Don't get rid of the temptation dishes you can use them all time not on Thanksgiving only and you can use them with Corning ware some times this and sometimes that
I think decluttering the way you do, a little at a time, is more thorough of a process. You have more time to make decisions so you avoid the decision fatigue of decluttering a lot whole room at a time, plus more time to weigh your options.
Another great job. You are very wise to use your Corningware and get rid of the Temptations (QVC). Corningware is a vastly superior product. The newer Temptations are such poor quality as they are always crazing, cracking and breaking. If you have the metal racks that came with the Temptations they can be used with the Corningware so you can use hot Corningware with the Temptations metal serving rack on a table and not need a trivit. I bake chicken thighs, onion, carrots and potatoes in my large Corningware bake dish and I use the Temptations metal rack to not damage my tabletop to serve my Corningware.
Oh Sophia I LOVE THOSE OLD WORLD items. I have been a subscriber for decade or more. And those dinner wares ARE TO DIE FOR. I looked high and low to buy those but every time I think of buying I am always short of money. But whenever I have the $ The priorities were not there. I am sad that you letting it go. I even saw you used it during thanksgiving/s. Haaayy.... I am just sad that it wont be a part of your meaningful holidays. But you are doing oh so well with de cluttering. You are really awesome
I loved you going back to thinking through the process out loud of releasing things. That is so interesting to me. Good job, thanks for taking us along.
I think this those bowls with the covers are beautiful I would keep them on beauty alone but you do such a good job at decluttering I wish I wish I could do that good this is Penny from Virginia
Can you hear me applauding you , Sophia, all the way in CT??👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 SO Proud if you for getting to the heart of if you use something or not. Personally , I gave away a set of China I ONLY used at THANKSGIVING! I said , that’s it!, no more saving dishes for 1 days use out of 365! DONE! 🎉
Good job, Sophia. Those cupboards were like a clown car.LOL I can't believe how much they hold. You are fun to listen too as you go through all the things. I really like that about your channel. The green serving set sure is pretty. I would put it somewhere else in the house and just use it as decor. Well, I wouldn't, my space is too small. But, I would be tempted. 😁 Cheers.
You have the best decluttering videos. I love how you talk through them and explain your thought process. It's helped me with my own decluttering so much.
Good luck on your garage sale!! ps- I would maybe add the Pyrex bowls (with or without the lids) to the garage sale pile. Lots of people use those stretchy covers on bowls and Pyrex glass is sturdy! We just had a sale last month (twice) and I am ALWAYS surprised by how much and what actually goes.
Sophia I am So in to you! We have just bought Our house in Germany and I am 44 years old. You have done an amazing job all these years. Your house is a home and it really shines from the love you put in it!
The pink temptations platter came with the temptations Bundt pan. I let all my temptations go because of their weight…felt too heavy, but they are so pretty! You are my kindred spirit for sure.
i completely understand your wanting to use the metric system. I grew up in America but I am in the medical field. After I learned metrics and practiced for so many years, I am sometimes annoyed by the inaccuracy of the Imperial system. Thankfully, my training involved learning these equivalent measures. I must say though I love recipes (especially baking) that give the gram/milliliter measurements for ingredients.
Love your DOC-series! I see you are steadily gaining more subscribers. As you should, you are delivering great content, and I think we all appreciate your great personality!
Some times I prefer the family to use a dish everyday instead of my good stuff. I also use deeper bowls as containers for my numerous plants especially succulents.
Thank you so much for sharing these experiences and your journey! You are truly an inspiration. Your thoughts, reasoning and gentle “one step at a time” approach is helpful and supportive! Looking forward to the review in the mop/vacuum. I have been considering the merits.
Oh, Sophia, don't feel like the Lone Ranger for cooking measurements...I grew up in the 50s and 60s in the US, so was taught the non-metric [crazy] measurement system but also studied math and science in school through university, so metric only with all that; then teaching chem, physics and math since 1968 [until recently] was mostly metric, but trying to operate my own home in non-metrics has been an experience of conflict, confusion, and quite frankly insanity! The good thing about having to function within both, I can convert any units to any units [without Google] LOL. It helps me to visualize amounts when in common applications. Example, while nobody in my childhood or own home drinks, we do keep the supplies to serve guests, so have two 'jiggers' or shot glasses, that traditionally hold 1.5 fluid ounces or 44 ml each. And for things where exactness are not critical, estimation is good enough, such as water bottles with 950ml or apprx 1 liter capacity, are close enough to a quart for my uses. I always admire your tackling, and winning, at any project you take on!!!!!
Amazing job decluttering!! You are so right about space as opposed to keeping something expensive. To me what is expensive and valuable is my mental head space. If something isn't loved and used, it has to go.
Keep the Corning Ware and sale the Temptations. Corning is worth a fortune and you have so many. Love Corning Ware. You gave me so much inspiration over the years that while I'm decluttering I can hear your voice saying I'll get rid of this. Ha ha. While watching this video I was thinking about stuff I could get rid of in my cabinets. Love your videos and it seems good to know I'm not the only one going through decluttering all the time. Thanks for sharing. 💜
Looks great! Have you ever considered making a baking station using the peninsula area in your kitchen with the large cupboard underneath for baking supplies and equipment?
I have the Pyrex dish in a dark green and use it as my marinating dish with the lid upside down and holding a fork to move the meat around while it is refrigerated. Granted it cannot be dish-washed, but I like it for the job. I have a bunch of the Pyrex round containers with the plastic tops. I hand wash the tops, which I don’t mind, but square and rectangular would be nice.
You are a motivator as I myself decluttery cabinets you are right when you say we buy stuff thinking we'd use it we do for a while until the novelty wears off and it goes to the cabinets grave yard you are doing a fantastic job Sophia love your videos
I have stuff that needs to go!!! Your right why keep something that you never use!!!! Thank You for talking throughout your bloggs!!!! Love forward to your next one!!!! Ann x
I have those round containers with lids, they do break down after years in the dishwasher. I bought replacement lids on Walmart website! Way to go with the decision making!

Right when your fridge door opened your light under the cabinet flickered.
someone was "visiting" her I think........
@@JazzyBabe56 i was thinking the same thing
I saw that! And I was shook!
Spooky!
I'm not saying it's aliens...but it's aliens
No! Not the beaters! My mom has that style and has for years. Those little guys NEVER die. It's way better than the new black and decker that I have!
garage sale those glass pyrex. without lid people use them as mixing bowls, serving bowls & put stretchy lids on them.
you did so good! my husband keeps telling me stop moving stuff!! from decluttering/reorganizing the kitchen.

Don’t forget the baskets that go with the Temptation dishes when you do your garage sell.
First I have to say I love that you use your China. And you finally let go of the Temptations! (Yes I have been watching your videos for a long time 😊). I've been missing the chit chat. So happy it's back! You've come so far with decluttering over the years. Great job!
To be real: my Mum bought me a lovely Villeroy & Boch set for my marriage that was in cupboards for years. After my divorce I said: no… I am using it now. That cabinet was like a clown car with all the stuff you kept pulling out🤣 and the poltergeist light under the cabinet was freaking me out👻🎃

Well, it is hard to let go of pretty dishes. All of yours are beautiful.
Im so proud of you for letting the Temptations go! If you don’t use it, lose it! Your decluttering muscles are so strong after all this time.
After you get rid of them, you won't think about them any longer. :)
It is amazing at the progress that you have made in decluttering. I have watched you agonize over things that I would have quickly thrown away but you needed to hold tightly to them. With each declutter you breathe easier. So nice to see your growth.

You did such an amazing job Sophia! I was sure you were going to cave and keep the Temptation set, but then you realized that you really didn't need them and you made up your mind! Thank you for talking through your process. I found that very helpful.
These videos are so helpful! Love when you “talk it out” - very helpful
That cupboard is like Mary Poppin’s carpet bag. The stuff just kept on coming!
Don't get rid of the temptation dishes you can use them all time not on Thanksgiving only and you can use them with Corning ware some times this and sometimes that
Love watching you! I so enjoy your fun personality♥️
Great video Sophia. Love your chit chat 💕
Yessss, thanks for listening to my comment about chatting through your process! Love it! Good job with your declutter. I have so much still to do.
I think decluttering the way you do, a little at a time, is more thorough of a process. You have more time to make decisions so you avoid the decision fatigue of decluttering a lot whole room at a time, plus more time to weigh your options.
THANK YOU for not fast forwarding! LOL Loved this one.
The Temptations will definitely sell.

I don't have any oval corningware.
Decluttering bowls was easy for me. I have arthritis so everything heavy had to go.
Oh Sophia I LOVE THOSE OLD WORLD items. I have been a subscriber for decade or more. And those dinner wares

I can’t wait to see your garage sale ❤️
I love this series! I need the inspiration!
I think this those bowls with the covers are beautiful I would keep them on beauty alone but you do such a good job at decluttering I wish I wish I could do that good this is Penny from Virginia
Put that yellow Pyrex box on your Etsy. A collector is probably looking for that one.
If it was me I would keep the bowl from the temptation line. That bowl is pretty for serving vegetables.
Oh Sophia I wish I could come to your garage sale I'd love those Temptation dishes xx
I'd love them too but New Jersey is way too far from Athens Greece.
So proud of you Sophia!! Good job! I love your talking through the process!! Thank you for sharing!
Well done Sophia!! This was so fun to watch. Thank you!🙏🏻💕
Can you hear me applauding you , Sophia, all the way in CT??👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 SO Proud if you for getting to the heart of if you use something or not.

Proud of you on this one 👏 💓 ❤
Aww the Temptation, I always loved those...But look at at you!!! You are doing AMAZING at getting everything so streamlined!!
I love your talk Sofia.
Good job, Sophia. Those cupboards were like a clown car.LOL I can't believe how much they hold.

You have the best decluttering videos. I love how you talk through them and explain your thought process. It's helped me with my own decluttering so much.
I love all of your videos, but this one and what you said really struck a chord. Time to let go!! Thank you!

Sophia I am So in to you! We have just bought Our house in Germany and I am 44 years old. You have done an amazing job all these years. Your house is a home and it really shines from the love you put in it!
Hi Sophia. Of course I will keep them. They are also pretty like your Corning ware. ❤❤❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌
That thanksgiving set is beautiful!!!!!
Your thumbnail picture has me....😂😂😂😂🤣
The pink temptations platter came with the temptations Bundt pan. I let all my temptations go because of their weight…felt too heavy, but they are so pretty! You are my kindred spirit for sure.
Great job on the kitchen. I can't wait for your mom to come back and visit so we can see you cooking in the kitchen together again.
I enjoy your mom too. My mother has been gone for 5 years.
The round red one is like a cookie sheet. I do bake cookies on mine, a few at a time rather than a big batch.
i completely understand your wanting to use the metric system. I grew up in America but I am in the medical field. I certainly benefited from watching this process, especially your closing comments. Because I could totally relate.
Tfs Lovely & take care 🌺🙏💝
You could take your Temptations and plant your starter plants in them each year. That way you still get to look at them and they have a use.
Can you do a french cooking series? And maybe use your cook books and etiquette books! Be really fun going into thanksgiving season!!
I agree!
Yes I am so proud! I remember your first decluttering videos you have came such a long way and have taught me to I have the same problem
I’m starting to let go of a lot of things. I agree we keep things because we feel guilty, but if we used then we shouldn’t feel bad.
What a fantastic job!! Yes, decluttering takes a few times around to complete it. Everything is looking good!!! 😉👍❤
Thank you so much for sharing these experiences and your journey! You are truly an inspiration. Your thoughts, reasoning and gentle “one step at a time” approach is helpful and supportive! Looking forward to the review in the mop/vacuum. I have been considering the merits.
Sophia, Your round red platter would be great for your Christmas cookies or a Bundt cake. Loved your video!

Nicely done, Sophia!
Sophia,
I'm so proud of you. You're doing a great job!! No more holding on to something that you don't use or need anymore!!
I can almost smell that wonderful bread ! :)
Yes Sophia you did a great job.
Looking forward to the vacuum review.
Looks great! Have you ever considered making a baking station using the peninsula area in your kitchen with the large cupboard underneath for baking supplies and equipment?
What great motivation!! Thanks so much.
Great advice about doing one area at a time.I used to declutter more than one room at the same time.
Keep The temptations. Make a committment to use them within 6 months . I am so motivated now. I have a lot of temptations that. Needs to go !!
I'm excited for your garage sale! Hope you make a little $$$ and can find new homes for your things. Will you be filming the garage sale?
You are a motivator as I myself decluttery cabinets you are right when you say we buy stuff thinking we'd use it we do for a while until the novelty wears off and it goes to the cabinets grave yard you are doing a fantastic job Sophia love your videos
WOW!! Great job Sophia! You have come so far since I first started watching your channel.
Wow!!!!!! Didn’t watch you for a while, inspiring as usual💕💕💕 how you lost this amount of weight please share with us 🙏💕💕💕😍
Your light behind you keeps flashing. Good job! Sophia!
I kept it on while on the charger.
I have stuff that needs to go!!! Your right why keep something that you never use!!!! Thank You for talking throughout your bloggs!!!! Love forward to your next one!!!! Ann x
I would totally buy the temptation dishes of you if I lived in the US. I have always liked them since I saw them in your video!
Me too exactly but I am not there
Me too! That set will be sold in 5 minutes. Unfortunately not by me.
Great job! You got rid of a lot!
Great job you did an excellent job purging 👍👏👏
I would buy the crystal three section bowl. It is a Wexford. I have have this set. How much for it?
Looks amazing!
Thank you so much my friend!!!!! You did an awesome job at decluttering as usual!!!!!!
I have those round containers with lids, they do break down after years in the dishwasher. I bought replacement lids on Walmart website! Way to go with the decision making!
