I wish I had a dollar for each time I've crossed that bridge over the last almost 30 years! It is an amazing experience every time. Especially on early foggy mornings when you come around the curve northbound and you can't see the rails beyond the south end of the bridge! I call those days IFR on the rails, as in instrument flight rules in aviation, IFR. In fact I crossed it yesterday, and again today making my way back to Chattanooga.
This stretch of track (Cincinnati - Chattanooga), is the Cincinnati, New Orleans, Texas and Pacific RR (CNOT&P), commonly called 'the Rathole. It's owned by the City of Cincinnati and leased to the Norfolk Southern. Cincinnati recently offered to sell it to the NS (2023).
Impressive structure. So why doesn't NS take better care of it? If the bridge is such a big deal, you would think NS would put significant effort into maintanence; knock the rust off and keep a fresh coat of paint on it. As it is it looks like a derelict structure, which is what it will become if NS doesn't start taking care of it.
Amazing the grand engineering of structures hidden away virtually unseen.😎💯
That is incredible. I believe I rode the 630 over it. Awesome video!
Love you Papa Jer Toof
Very cool!
Great, interesting video. Thank you.
I guess PSR prohibits it from being painted! Great video!
I think so too! Thank you.
I hiked this when it was still silver in the early 80's , it was terrifying . Got some good photos back then....

@pixamite1
I wish I knew the train schedules so I can fly over and around while the train is passing by
Excellent. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Impressive bridge for sure! Great info and aerial footage!!! Good stuff 👊
Thanks 👍

Interesting
Yeah the fellas snd I were just out there. Amazing bridge!

Nice!
Thank you Ken. It’s great to see awesome UA-camrs like yourself still comment on the little guys videos. Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers
Those piers look like big city skyscrapers.
That is great to see. Thanks for sharing. Is it also possible to see a train crossing the bridge with your drone?
Yes, soon
An incredible engineering feat. Downright awesome footage. Wonder if any passenger trains use(d) it?
Good question!
Looks as if it needs a paint job. That must be quite a task.
Id walk across that. Its safe enough
I'm not sure about the color of the bridge. It looks like rust.....
