What is the name and size of the tool adaptor you are using to press out the bushing?

Is it possible to press in the new bushing with the ball joint remover? Is there any particular reason you used the vise instead? Thanjs

You cannot use ball joint remover to press them in because bushings have grease nipple placed around edge of the bushing if you use round adapter you will crush them, using a vice eliminates this obstacle.

How often do you have to grease these? I was planning on buying a set of poly bushings but now I'm considering these instead. If you have to grease them constantly then maybe I'll just stick with OEM bushings

I grease them every oil change so about 3k keep in mind I change oil frequently because those mostly are track miles so high wear otherwise I would grease them every 5k it’s going to be 2 years soon since I got these and so far nothing to complain about likem a lot 👌

@@MotorsportInspired Oh good to hear, every 5k is no issue at all. Glad I found this video before I bought some poly bushings! Just ordered a set of these hope they arrive quickly. Thanks man!

dont need to press the bushings out. just buy a new fcab assembly they are pretty cheap.
you said polyurethane bushings suck. WHY? , are you into performance. Care to explain.

Hi, While you can buy new housing why spend extra money for something that does not need to be replaced can be reused with no extra expense if you don't mind doing the work yourself, if you do than buying housing is another option.
Now to answer second part of your question; In the past I had experience with 2 different brands of FCAB for this car, which both of them suffered a failures within short time after installation. While from the performance aspect there was nice improvement from polyurethane FCAB bushings over stock at first glance, the tread off was not worth it. what do I mean by failure? well both polyurethane bushings I used developed play between sleeve and the polyurethane bushing pressed into the housing within short time after installation and hard track use. What this has translated to was every time I would drive over the smallest asphalt crack, transition not even a pothole the smallest undulation on the road, there would be a clunking sound coming form the front end which drove me insane, this is not a race car keep in mind I use this car on street as well, its not fun driving the car around and having it clunk left and right all the time. That was mine experience also had friend with similar results, there was posting on the forums couples years ago with several other people experiencing the same issue with poly fcab on this car as well, its safe to say that poly FCAB on this are no go if you care about any type of quality ride, if its a race car well that's a different story than. Now with these Turner Monaball FCAB its a game changer had these installed for 7 months now and its been phenomenal no noises steering feel is amazing, these are better than polyurethane bushing I installed and comfort wise its not even in the same ballpark Monoballs are pretty close to OE level of comfort while providing un parallel level performance results.

@@MotorsportInspired Well polyurethane bushings have been around in the car performance arena for ages. Maybe yours were made in China.

Yes they have been and are very good upgrade in other places on the e46 chassis not this FCAB application and anyone who has been around e46 chassis long enough will tell you the same thing while they are have other good uses on e46 platform they are pure garbage for the fcab application, by the way the ones I had direct experience with were AKG which is made in USA and powerfelx which I think is made in England if Im not mistaken correct me if Im wrong. Another downside in the FCAB application of polyurethane bushing is since polyurethane much stiffer it prevents the natural movement of the control arm which affects suspension geometry upon load, this is where Monoball bushings provide real benefit because they have live swivel which allows natural movement as load is being applied on to the control arm. There's a reason serious race teams use solid spherical bearing bushings in fcab application because it allows natural movement of the control arm. for obvious reason you would not want to run solid spherical bearing bushing on the street because NVH and noise would be un bearable. Therefore Turner Monoball bushings are the next best thing in this application providing same benefits solid spherical bearings do precise steering without sacrifice of NVH
