Gris Charnel Extrait was the first niche frag I ever got my nose on. To this day, I'm really torn on it. Something about the DNA appeals to me a lot but the Extrait, personally, is so heavy, so thick, so cloying, that I feel like it's just a liiittle bit too much for me. My partner loves it and wears it, and it suits her, so I always thought of this as a slightly feminine-leading frag. I wasn't curious about trying out the regular Gris Charnel but after hearing your breakdown, I might give it a go. Good breakdown Mikey. I recently got my nose on Byredo - Vanille Antique and it's shot to the top of my wish-list right now. Absolutely perfect date-night frag for me. Well worth getting your nose on mate.
Cheers for upload mikey! Not tried either of thee so May have to get a sample, saw ATH hyping them as well Seems the community tend to lean into the EDP being more versatile and the extrait being more situational and base heavy
I bought both the OG version and Extrait version. I decided that I would give the OG to my wife because as you and others say, it leans slightly feminine. I kept the extrait for me because of the darker profile. After a month or so of regular wear, I found myself missing the airiness, lightness and projection of the OG. Extrait alone wasn't doing it for me so I started the day with the OG then reapplied Extrait for evening. I eventually and just recently sold the Extrait. Although not completely redundant, life is too short to wear fragrances with similar profiles. I decided to keep and share the original with my wife, I just layer it with other more "masculine" scents. This allows me to have that airiness and fig/tea vibe and the projection that makes the original so special and then utilize other fragrances too.
Nice one Mickey👍. I'm with you about not having close duplicates in my collection. I love sampling and want an interesting collection but just don't have space for every new release or flankers.
Hi Mikey ,I was going to buy one of these but not sure which one to get ,as you say the Extrait is £220 and you can now pick up the Eau de Parfum for around £130 ish ,what would you recommend mate ?

Yeah I think you can definitely get more wear out off the edp
I think I prefer the Extrait in general, but on the long run the original is better and more easy to wear, the Extrait is really formal and seductive

Thank Mike!
Great review, I love both but the Extrait wins for me.
Thank you to me their both stunners for sure 👌🏻
extrait for me
The extrait has no trail and no silage .
I only smell it close to the skin.
I am so dissapointed.
