- Hii! In today's video, I am painting on leaves. Basically, I'm just back here painting on random stuff again. I hope this helps you think of a way to be creative when you're feeling bored!

ABOUT ME:
Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. I recently had the opportunity to write a book called Draw Your Journal that is available on Amazon. It would be really cool if you got a fake plant with big leaves and painted all the leaves on the plant, it could also be decore for your art room! Ps. Love your vids! Hope your doing well! ❤❤❤😊
I'd love to see an update of how these age with the moisture trapped in there. Super curious of how they'll look
I paint leaves all the time and highly suggest pressing them to dry for at least a week if they dont get dried before painting they tend to curl and crack (I speed up the prosses by pressing them between printer paper and ironing them on a low heat) also helps if you dont dry them first to press them in a picture frame to keep them flat as they slowly dry over time

2:49 Marissa! Tell me, PLEASE, why have I never thought to do this!?!? This is an amazing idea! Everytime I pull out my acrylic paints, I don't enjoy the process because I'm having to look through them to see what the color is. I've seen this before but I don't know why I didn't think to do it to my own paints! 😂

You should paint on rocks/pebbles or seashells! I’m also curious to see how the leaves look now as sometimes the moisture will seep through and go mouldy LOL anyways amazing video Marissa pastel 💙

2:13 Hi! So basically Gesso is a mixture of glue and chalk, so not at all the same as acrylic paint.
It’s made of glue so it sticks better to the surface AND to the paint, creating a strong bond between the two.
On the other hand, acrylic paint is basically a colored plastic, and plastic peels off eventually when fully dry - exactly what happened later when you cleaned your paint palette -

If you store your paint bottles upside-down it keeps them from developing "clots" or "skins" on the top because no air can get in. Also you can see what color they are through the bottom of the bottle! You're welcome ☺️

The difference between gesso and acrylic white paint is that gesso leaves the thing you are painting with a ruffer surface, so the paint will stick better and you will not need so many coats, if the thing you are painting is absorbing the paint... Because the thing you paint that absorbs paint, will absorb the white paint, but gesso kind of make a barrier between the item and the next layer of paint🥰

Gesso has like a chalk dust in it to help the paint stick to it - I believe

I dont own resin hahaaha so probably not! We'll see how they age.. I'm assuming they'll crumble 😂

You and Mariah are so suspicious of Gesso 😂 It really depends on what your using it on too. It's not a miracle worker though. Some things just don't want paint on them lol
