@VGMnerds That's a problem because if the spectator should choose a 9 or 10 as one of his spot cards then it messes up the shuffles. With 12 cards in each pile you will always peel off between 2 and 10 cards and keep the shuffles looking consistant and random.

The only problem with this trick is that while your going through the deck, having them pick 4 cards, they might notice that none of the aces appear.
By adding 4 kings after the 4 aces before you start and instead of counting to 12 during
each shuffle, count to 11, the cards that were aces are now 4 kings and then you
can turn over the top card on the 4 piles and get the 4 aces
From today I am a fan of MagicZack as well :)
Awesome trick. As a side note, While I"m explaining to the spectator that he has to start dealing cards one by one to make piles, after I put down the aces as I'm showing the spectator what to do,....I then hand him the remaining cards so they can make the piles and I also tell them they can shuffle or cut the cards as many times as they want! Great effect!

Thanks for posting that trick. I have 2 suggestions: First, when the two is forced, it should be the 2 of SPADES (because it was stated earlier in the trick that Spades are the "leader" cards, and in fact, the Ace of Spades and King of Spades were stated to be the leaders of the aces and kings, respectively. Second, I think it is a stronger effect at the end to first wave the 2 over the packet which they believe (from the very beginning) contains aces, and change those "aces" into twos, and THEN wave the ace of spades over the packet that they believe contains three random cards of their own choosing, changing those three random cards into aces. Just my opinion.

They can't because they can only name spot cards, which are the numbered cards. Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces cannot be picked.

Google search either "close-up pad" or "card mat". You'll find a bunch of different ones in various sizes and colors.

Hey mismag822. Dont u think this trick could ne made 100x better if u dont look at the four collected spot cards. And u like use x-ray vision card trick to actually see the cards? Not the andy field one, the other one where u bend the card a little. Please respond. Im going to perform this in 2 days at a huge party so i would like to know if that would make it better or just ruin it? Thanks btw for the tutorial
Ok so if you start with a royal flush (10 through to Ace of same suit) on top and count out three piles of 9 and two piles of 10 (instead of the four of 12) and as long as you remember the last two piles you put cards onto you have to take the number away from ten and the first three piles take the number away from nine youll end up giving the spectator a royal flush instead of four aces!
Well there are lots of tricks that don't need any preparation. You can force the spectator to pick up a card you know, or you force their card to the top of the deck etc.. You can use a "key" card for example the bottom card and so on. I still find these pre set tricks much more enterntaining.
well your channel is all about tutorials, so the contest should you doing a card trick and we have to make a tutorial by guessing what you are doing the best tutorial in the video responses should be the winner. it really shows what your channel is about thumbs up if you agree!

could you do a tutorial on how to look through the deck like u do without messing up??
I made a variation of it. I remember that trick you made about "impressing the ladies", then i used the queens instead of aces then i told them that the ladies can't get enough by just one trick :D
i dont think it would matter even if you told them you suffle the cards from the numbers, they not gonna know ace's are at the bottom, so you could tell them ? right
This would be really awesome if you presented it as a 'deck memory' effect, wherein you 'remember' the location of the four aces and do some false shuffles to 'set it up'.

and what if they wonder why there isn't even 1 ace on the deck?... or what if they pick the ace?... when you say "Name a number from the deck"?
I think the spectator would have to be pretty stupid not to be suspicious when you just HAPPEN to peal the number of cards off the top (3:15) that just happens to match the number of the turned up card.
I made a slight tweek to the trick, I told them to pick any 4 cards, and simply stated that face cards count as ten, Giving a greater illusion of free choice.
instead of multitasking by taking away numbers just count on. e.g when u shuffle and they choose an 8 just count on untill u get to 12
what if someone wants the spot card to be a K?? =P..you only have 12 cards on each pile...tell them to pick the exact number of Q or below?
i dont get how u shuffle it- the ace is at the bottom and u had a 5 so 12-5=7. do you take top 7 cards of and put it on bottom? or what i dont get it

@XtremeEmoBlack they're supposed to only choose spot cards, no court cards to deal with so if they do you explained it wrong.
I think you should do performances yourself instead of just taking a trick and explaining it (but of course, it's your choice)
