The van looks good. I have two on pre-order: one double-veranda, one single-veranda, both in SECR grey. I did create a single veranda version years ago using two Parkside LNER wagon chassis and an LMS brake van kit. The Rapido one will probably show that up for all its inaccuracies now. :-D For your derailing problem, check the wheel back-to-back measurements as it looks like it is actually catching on your pointwork. I have fixed similar problems on some older 6-wheel stock (Dapol milk tank wagons and a couple of Bachmann N class tenders) by carefully drilling the centre axle boxes upwards to create oval shaped recesses so the centre axle can float upwards to a degree. Anyway, thanks for the review.
Lovely vans, however personally a 10/10 for DCC fitting and innovation is possibly a little high. Got to leave them something for the controllable tail lamp / fire flicker from inside :P
Hi Jenny I hope you are well? I through rapido said the roof is hold in by magnets so you can get inside (edit) it the toad with magnets sorry Keep safe ARP
Lovely model but what a shame it can stay on the track, just like a Dapol milk tank where at least you can change the outer wheels. Hmmm I have some split spoked Hornby wheels, I wonder ....
I bought a single veranda one, but it has "Break", not "Brake" on the side. Surely, this mistake wasn't on the real thing? Perhaps it was and I'm wrong, but it seems very odd.
@@RS-xo7rd Ah, thank you. That makes sense because spelling in the past was not always as per today's. For example, I always like Somerset Maugham's use of "connexion" instead of "connection". It's also true to say that one could spell one's name anyway one wished in the 19th century. I've not unplacked the van I bought because it's really meant to go on a section of standard gauge track alongside my planned 009 layout Those who say it's not cheap are not wrong!
£39.95? Hilarious its worth about £20 at best, its not even a coach. "Thats where we are seems" to be a sad indictment of the prices we are seeing in MR these days...
I approve of pre-grouping.

I've got the TrainTimes exclusive Kent & East Sussex Railway version. I can confirm it's as good as Jenny says
Got my BR black one and it’s superb on the outside
Excellent video
Thanks Jenny, really appreciated your review. I am a little bummed that Rapido have produced this brake van with a middle axle that is rigid.
My BR black engineers version arrived yesterday

Removing the flange and taper on the middle wheel would be a simple fix to its cornering.
Hi Jennifer in the video who said Bagnall with rapido are making an SECR brake van do you have the link?

No, it is correct. See my comments above.
