The Gauntlet I Am Legend went OOP first IIRC. When I bought several of the other signed Mathesons cheap from B&N more than 20 years ago IAL was long gone by that point. There's a lot to be said for owning those signed editions as RM had direct creative control over the way they looked and of course, he isn't signing any more books now he's sadly passed.
Crap, did I say the Gauntlet I Am Legend stuck around for awhile? I meant the Suntup numbered edition of I Am Legend. That one held out for awhile, especially considering how quickly most of the early Suntup titles sold out (excluding Brother, but that had 500 copies).
BIt's a very nice edition. I must say that I never did understood why people should judge books with nowwdays values compared when the book was written. I mean 50 years both topics you mentioned, mainly the lesbian one, I think it portrays how their generation thought. I mean, I never understood people trying to cancel Lovecraft because his views, which were pretty regular back in that day, don't line with nowdays. I am not saying that either is correct. I Am just thinking that I Can't add my "experience" of life in a way of a book with 50 years, 100 years of 1000 years. Sorry about my rant, don't mean to criticise or something like that - just thought talking about what I think, Thank you and keep coming this great book unhaul and reviews. Last one made me save a buck, well 50 or so.
No need to apologize for the rant! I don't believe the works need to be changed with the times, nor should authors get cancelled for things that were commonplace for the times. With regards to Hell House, I can totally appreciate it being a seminal work and terrifying for the time. It doesn't quite hold up these days, but that didn't detract me from buying it. It's like many of the old Twilight Zone episodes (some of which Matheson himself wrote). They may be cheesy by today's standards, but a good script or story makes them still worth watching.
I’ve never understood the appeal of deckled edges. If you are a fan, please enlighten me as to your reasons why. Personally, I consider it a negative if a book has deckled edges.
I'm indifferent to deckled edges on trade editions. But on fancier editions like I Am Legend, I think it highlights the paper used and the craftsmanship in creating said paper. Trade editions start off with flat edges that then have to be run through a machine and cut to give it that deckled look. But with the Teton paper used in I Am Legend, the paper is actually starting with deckled edges, which is why it doesn't look as patterned as trade editions do with deckled edges. All just a matter of opinion of course!
I wonder if Chris Morey will ever resurface and make a statement. I think it'll only happen if someone takes him to court. I also wonder if the fallout of the Dark Regions situation will have an impact on the preorder-reliant publishers out there, like Cemetery Dance. You'd think that there would be a big enough overlap between their customers and it wouldn't surprise me if more people start cancelling their preorders with CD for fear of losing their money.

As always, I love the video. I’d love a Suntup Shrinking Man and Stir of Echos.
Did you order Born of Man and Woman?
The more Matheson, the merrier!
Although, no, I had to pass on Borne of Man and Woman.

This whole dark regions this is totally fucked up. Luckily I’m not one of the victims but I personally know someone who’s out money
