I prefer reverse bleeding.i fill a childrens syringe, fill it with brake fluid, mount a hose to the bleeder screw and inject fluid into bleeder. Much better process.
DOT 5 absorbs moisture faster should be changed every year I have a 2012 ABS have been running DOT 5 since new just did simple flush no computer gadget for the abs 3 flhtc bikes have done the same with ABS never a problem
Yes as long as you don't introduce air into the ABS unit there's no issues ... if it sucks air then you'll need a scan tool to completely bleed the ABS unit

I've wondered why Harley went back to dot 4. Isn't dot 5 silicon base and not corrosive? Seems like a better option around beautiful paint and chrome.
