Aikido. Teaching at the dojo. Kihon for kids" is mainly addressed to instructors and people engaged in teaching children. The concept of the book is to present methods for developing self-defence skills and body fitness as well as showing aikido in technical and tactical foundations the so-called kihon. The book contains sets of movement exercises; from classic games, through gymnastics for forms of movement typical of aikido classes. I have meticulously tried to introduce the basic elements that make up this martial art. I am a physical education teacher by profession. University knowledge and practice in school work strongly influenced my approach to issues of children's activity. Therefore, the exercises described in the book take into account ontogenetic development of children, thanks to which they are adapted to their needs and abilities.
This publication also contains many personal thoughts, information and tips. As the only publication in Poland, and one of the few in the world, was created to introduce aikido from the side of organisation and methodology of activities for children. By writing this book I wanted to systematise knowledge, so I hope that I will contribute to the introduction of some taxonomies in the process of aikido teaching. The methods I have developed are based on observation, analysis and inference based on work with children. I guarantee that they are checked practically and used during classes will give the desired didactic effects. What's more, the basic premise for developing this publication was the aforementioned concern for the health and proper development of our children.
