I learned via towing, and can't imagine a better way to become "READY" for your first powered flight. On the day I was supposed to meet my instructor for my first powered launch, he was late. I knew I was ready, and didn't want to wait, so I successfully lauched alone, first try. When he pulled up, he saw my truck, but not me or my paramotor. I surprised him when I radioed down to him...he was shocked but proud.
100% agree Kyle. I'm thankful to have been towed prior to flying. Was great to have the flight practice along with practicing of the flare for landings.
Towing is absolutely the best way to get the feel for a paramotor IMHO. There's a lot to it as I learned getting my towing endorsement! This was super interesting, didn't even know you did the Kyle-o!
Kyle I am saving money and losing weight so I am not so much of a boat anchor when I come see you for training at the end of April :) I'm so excited!!!!
Well there are too many del fans with too many of Dell's trades to blame Dell for anything but cutting off the end of his own finger in a fit of aviation supremacy. Towing is the best because you're flying in flatland when you learn and you don't have to hit a Target too much to make your landing you just come down and flare at the right time and you don't have to do so much steering and getting it into a tight spot. If you eliminate the pitch and swing problem from your flying and landing you eliminate a lot of difficulties and the towing training style does in fact eliminate that. I love your content and dell is the same as all his fans who would take his picture just to annoy you. A lot of people are jealous of you.
I live on an island and the closest beach is closed to paramotors, so I have to drive 45 minutes to another beach for PPG. I have recently been contemplating building a remote control electric self-tow winch on a beach cart so I can fly just the paraglider at my nearest beach. The ones I see using 3-6kW e-bike hub motors seem pretty nice and can be safer because you can electronically set the regen tension to lessen the possibility of lockout. Still on the fence though, because it is pretty expensive even if you DIY.
If you haven’t already, you might want to look into pay out winches. I know in the early 90s Hill Country PG had one set up in a van. I didn’t get to try it because it was blown out, but I have towed Hang Gliders with pay out system. Works great. Thanks for posting 😎
In Germany an official license for PPG is mandatory and you cannot start PPG training without having basic PG training first, which in most cases includes towing flights. So I had no choice, but I also share your opinion that it's a good idea to have your first flights on a tow machine.
Dell always has to pee on the fire! LOL! In my mind any kind of flying you can do with this style wing, regardless of how you get up there, is good learning.Nice shot of that red tail at the end! Used to be millions of those around here in the day, but I don't see them too much anymore. More vultures than anything now. I sense a metaphor of today's society there ... ;)
I 100% agree Kyle, towing is such a great tool. My instructor towed me up to 3,000' ( ua-cam.com/video/5ZWZmZfFKxU/v-deo.html ) with a truck and pay out winch system. It was great for getting comfortable in my gear, practicing skills, and just all around getting comfortable in the air. Thanks for showing your set-up!

I thought towing was very helpful I tranined with Kyle O good memories learned alot!!
That's my buddy Adam !!
When I trained I wish my instructor would have used a tow set up. Thanks Kyle
Yeah, towing is best before first motor flight.
Your set up looks like so much fun.
Kyle O da man!

Dude! Your gona love it!
But mind you you wont be a Super Pilot though!
I live with that every day!
@@aaronhorn6849 lol Super Pilot…I would rather not die on the beach learning to fly in high wind.
I hope to meet you while you are at Kyle's !
It's a blast, trained last March, flew all spring, summer, and fall. Flew once in the cold... Not for me.
Im going to have to head back down you way Kyle, and get my tow flights in!
I got rooked, great training but no towing 😬 looks fun.

Short & sweet! LOL
Great video, looks like a nice setup.
Towing is awesome!
Never got to use the tow when you trained me you added more line and it got tangled and and we spent half the day untangling it lol
Yes! When the spool exploded. Pretty sure it saved our bacon, otherwise we'd have towed into that gust front that came in from 100 miles away!
Hello my friend Can you tell me what is the best engine for two-person flight and what brand do you suggest for tandem flight?
Is Tucker sponsoring this video while you sport his merch? :D
How many horsepower do we need for a two-person flight?
