I'm tired of being priced out. I can afford any deck but I don't really have the lifestyle to travel anymore. Spending 400 for a deck core like malice and another 300 plus for mulcharmy cards feels bad for just locals. My locals is strong here in st louis but it sucks when 700 dollar decks get reprinted when the "value" wasn't earned by playing locals like how a regional top may feel. It's a whatever issue cuz I still love yugioh and I play tons of other card games too but yugioh is the most fun, so I'm stuck playing older formats. I like playing tear anyways so traditional format side events fuel my yugioh addiction enough for now ~
Those cards getting reprinted soon nor do you need them. And vendors charging that high. But i cant say you are wrong even if the prices drop, it just feels like we need too many cards to keep up its exhausting. And while this is a trading card game we arent expected to buy everything. Stuff so generic but most cards in sets are meh its hard to trade. But its hard to be upset with the tcg because the ocg makes the core sets and they need to sell sealed product, not promote buying singles
Buying a $100 card just so it can tank to sub $10 within a few months is absolutely stupid af. Yugioh players need to take an economics course or something
phantom of yubel $60 on release😢 I thought it was gonna be expensive so I saved up and bought 2 it held its value for a week dropped to 40 announcememt of maliss tanked phantom to 20 now sub 10 its been like 6 months
@@adinsilbaugh3537 2 for me was awesome especially if field spell is on field so i could bring it out 3 times if need be but it may have been at the time broken not really its just a rewrite if u have a yubel to pop but hurt me seeing my $120 investment drop fast in a week and slowly dropping even more in a couple months. Though yubel to me was kinda shafted a bit in support could have given it 1 more extender or way to bring out more of its spell/trap with a summoning beast that bridges yubel and summoning beasts as it mainly relies on 0/0 for its plays
@davnez05 a good rule of thumb is if the card is more generic and everyone needs it ,then they can hold value well, like the staples. Anything that's specific to an archetype will never do as well.
Don’t you guys get tired of the same shit? Broken ass deck, expensive ass cards just to play the meta. Ban list that hits those decks every 6 months, rinse and repeat. Are you not tired of the literal definition of insanity? I’ve saved so much money since getting out of the cardboard version of this game years ago. Shit is ridiculous.
I agree 100%. I have still played in-person over the years, but I only ever invest in decks that are Tier-2 or Rogue. At least I know I’m spending significantly less than a Tier 1 deck, and my deck is not at risk of getting nuked by the banlist. Those rogue decks let you play for cheaper and your deck is around for months to years and is viable.
My warrior deck for goat format cost me 30$ delinquent duo being the most expensive it kicks azz nd its 5$ tournament fee, yeah i dnt see myself playing advanced format ever again
Since 10 months I am back in physical YGO. My Cardmarket-Account says that I‘ve spent 6k on cards. I can buy every card that gets released and I like high rare stuff. But the longer I’m in this game, the more stupid it feels to spend so much money on cards that looses so much worth in a short time. I really think twice about buying cards. Every deck I had in 2024 was hit by the banlist, so I just buy staples in high rare and I will stick just to one meta deck. Everything else is not necessary for my opinion. I just play once in a week
We had a tier zero format so there was literally 0 need to buy anything besides fiendsmith or snake eyes. Magic was dropping meta defining cards in a set every month on top of having multiple formats. Unless you’re a whale spending money like a clown on cases what fatigue 😂. There is 0 reason to buy SUDA unless you’re wanting nostalgia decks.
Its not product fatigue, its price fatigue. We need more ways to play the game where we can utilize other decks -- ideally ones already in our current collection -- that aren't currently good in the advanced format. That's all people are asking for, they just want to be able to play their pet decks and not get constantly curb stomped. Thankfully, Domain Format is (finally) taking off and I'm about on course to get my video out by hopefully this August. Plus there's still GOAT and Edison.
I dont mind having 1 dbp a yr if they're gonna be just as good. I'd like 2 structures a yr to help get 2 decks up to competitive speed. Maybe we can get a reprint set sooner than we do cuz things get too expensive and stay there for so long, ppl cant get the cards they want/need cuz its too expensive.
Even though reprints are on the horizon this is why I still play chain burn. 30$ deck and go 2-2 or 3-1 with the deck at locals. And now it’s getting support which is hilarious 😂 . Basically all of my friends quit yugioh because of price points which is honestly fair. Goat and Edison reprints though are fantastic and might have to switch to those.
I think cards should be on a 6 month reprint cycle Currently we’re one a 1 year minimum, but what happens is that when the good cards get their first Tin reprint, the card will get banned or limited Make the reprint cycle 6 months so the meta nerds can enjoy the card and get their top then the rest can enjoy it for 6 months before it gets banned
They could easily just print sets dedicated to support archeotypes and they would be set, more decks will have a chance. And less cheap since they can either reprint cards for said decks on lower rarities, OR increase a rarity to make it desirable.
There was a VERY VERRRY good reason konami did this WE ACTUALLY have TONS of options...and when I say this he has thrown the pieces to the puzzle out 😮I found mine along down the line more will too... 2025- Beyond deck secured
They better hurry up and print tf outta cards cause Los Angeles locals is looking like a ghost town now and everyone and their grandma are turning into pokemon trainers now
komoney just suck. I play since lob but even for me it starts to get negative feelings and feelings of want to leave the game. and lately I bought the fiendsmith engine. but mixed up feelings are there since last year. maybe it's time to quit this toxic game. it just eats to much time and I don't even go to locals. I just play with friends on a kitchen table. it's insane
So what now? People are always complaining "We need this reprint and that reprint", and if konami makes tons of products to fit reprints in it, its too much? I dont get it. Yugioh makes me into a headbanger, directly onto a wall. Can´t stand that stupidity.
We don't need reprints as soon as cards are released. We need original prints that arent' engineered to go to the stratosphere. Who cares if it takes mulcharmy 2 years to get reprinted if it never goes above $15? Who cares about archetype reprints if none of their cards are above $15. This cycle of $400 cores and $300 playset generics every 6 months only to be reprinted into the ground within 1 to 1.5 years is insane for players of every budget level.
TCG should just copy our format with multiple rarities or tactical try decks to bring down prices so newcomers can start somewhere. Tcg is just way too expensive
I have a really good job, but I have even been priced out of the game at this point. 700-800 dollar decks every three months just to compete at locals or a running shot at a regional is just too much. Been playing Yugioh for 15 years, and I’m pretty close to just calling it quits.
Used to look at Pokemon tcg as a slightly more affordable option for breaks during these times, but as I'm not willing to get up before 9 or throw hands at the costco, guess that's no longer a viable option.
they make pruducts like this BECAUSE they can onles they adopt OCG rarity I know Konami does not care they are taking advantage of the playerbase and the sellers the fact that they buy product without knowing the rarity is bafiling
Yeah yeah yeah it's the same old story each 6 months since corona format Just face it, Konami isn't gonna change things because they literally couldn't care less about the TCG You're gonna have to deal with it or move on to something else, I know I have
Personally I would like it to be slowed down ALOT, my ideal layout would be a core set every 6 months, 1 deck build pack once a year and a side set once a year. It would go something like: beginning of the year, deck build pack. 3 months, core set. 3 months side set to focus on imports (imports however are a whole other issue that I am not happy with) and maybe a nostalgia deck they've been doing every year, possibly also with reprints for the deck build pack on the high-rarity stuff ( basically battles of legends sets). 3 months, core set. This would allow them to build the core sets more around the deck build packs so were not also being bombarded with new archetypes every year, sprinkle in a structure deck every once and awhile and a rarity collection every 9 months to reprint the last 3 sets and I am happy. The biggest Issue I see with this is it sets them up to use the banlist even further then they already are to push new products and manipulate the market.

Every 9 months you're practically buying an Xbox or a PrayStation

Up until last year 2024. I felt like we had product every 2 or 3 weeks. Which was way much. Product once a month is fine.
Yeah, our current product release rate is fine. We should've just released the Tactical Try decks last year...
We just need more structure decks.
We need WAY more structure decks. Helps with reprints and helps all types of players stay in the game
Blue-eyes structure deck coming really soon! 🔵👀⚪🐉
Yugioh needs like magic the gathering and one piece did with six structures decks or three like the hero , cyber dragon, thor
I really wish the tactical-try decks would come to the TCG.

Blame the ocg the tcg card design is way different

not to mention the underwhelming prizes to win at major events...

Structure decks are really good for onboarding. More SD's, please!
So you're saying Yu-Gi-Oh has a mid-core player problem 😀

Jumped ship to exclusively play MD format back in August last year. Best decision I've taken.

Been thinking that for a while.
Konami printed too much products.
I hope Maze of the Master has the Magistus cards in it so badly. I don’t really mind once a month product.

Do it bro
We need more structure decks WITH EXACT REPRINTS from the OCG and not crap replacements
So what now? People are always complaining "We need this reprint and that reprint", and if konami makes tons of products to fit reprints in it, its too much? I dont get it.
Yugioh makes me into a headbanger, directly onto a wall. Can´t stand that stupidity.

i am fatigued 💯
Konami should just free Circular from the banlist.
I’d like more good structure decks, like a lot 4 a year minimum.
If speed duels r done, Just give us rush duels already Konami its just better speed duel and the cards look nicer
they make pruducts like this

Poktmon has it figured out idk why everyone doesn’t just copy their model
Is it all just meta garbage?
