Motivation: making life feel more like an adventure for myself, and getting to share that adventure with the world! + learning/honing in on lots of great skills along the way
It's really letting go of outcomes and just getting into the practice. Letting go what others think. And stop putting the validation and worthiness of the video on views and analytics.
@@iamjordanrhea I've seen soo many channels talk about starting but yours was the one that pushed me because you were also just starting. Thank you for that! You do a great job!
The quality of your videos are incredible. It's really encouraging to see someone that hasn't hit 1k subs even though they've posted a lot especially since the Internet would tell that most people go viral so quickly, and it does mess with you when you're just starting out thinking you aren't doing things the right way.
Yes, exactly! I wanted to be sure I was committed to all the other things I'd learn - if the growth is slow, I'm prepared and okay with that. Thanks for the thoughts.
Thank you for this!! I needed to hear everything you stated. This is definitely the content I am currently looking for as I get up the courage to post for the first time. Keep it coming!!
What's motivating me is learning there are new UA-camrs out here and it doesn't have to be perfect. I'm working on two channels (Lady Chronic) not knowing what I'm doing and I'm am loving it.
Just subbed ☝🏻 per YT’s rec. Awesome video and details. I procrastinated for 3+ years before I finally launched and just crossed over the 100+ sub mark!
you got yourself a subscriber, am two months in the youtube journey,my goal is to make my next video better than my last,..i agree with you on learning and gaining skills...very encouraging content
Hiii - thank you! That’s my favored approach - one video at a time, one focus area at a time. It took me about 50 videos to feel clear on how to do this whole thing (I upload #49 this week). Ultimately I don’t think I would got this far if I didn’t commit to 50 but still taking it step by step.
This is so relatable and useful!! Especially about the tip of working on one thing per video. I didn’t even realize they were called L-Cuts and J-Cuts, but I knew when I saw that technique used in a UA-cam video, I wanted to try to implement it in a video or two while telling a story. I love this video, thank you so much for this reflection and the seriously helpful tips. I’m definitely subscribing to follow along!
Congrats on hitting over 600 subs! I'm currently in the low 300's, but I find it so difficult to move past the negative comments. So I haven't uploaded in a couple of months now, but I'm determined to get back to it!
Thank you! I really understand - I saw a lot of weird/negative comments come thru more than normal/positive comments when I was starting out. I remember thinking: this can’t be the real UA-cam. Keep it up!!! 🤞🏽
Thank you so much for this video, very well explained! I have a studio mic for my computer but I have to film on my phone but I'm so confused about what to do with audio... Any tips? ❤
100%! I would look into an adapter that will connect mic to iPhone. Otherwise - you could still record straight to your computer and sync the audio inside of your video software.
10:51 It sounds crazy but I literally did the same thing with my first video I uploaded. I recorded it in 2018. Edited it and didn’t post it until 2020 😅. It was a moving to atl video.
Loved this! I definitely felt like we were having a conversation! Your video just gave me more motivation. I bought my camera in December 2023 and just posted my first video this weekend. I am learning editing and getting comfortable in front of the camera as well!! Good luck on your road to 500!! 🌟
Congrats on your growth! I started my channel in February 2023, but I've been doing mostly livestreams and shorts. I really want to shift my focus to long form videos. Your content is really inspiring to me.
Thank you for the compliment! I truly believe that success on UA-cam is driven by the value and authenticity a creator brings to their audience. It certainly takes hard work and consistency across the board. 🤞🏽 overall, I'm not of the opinion that a person's looks are a direct correlation to their social media impact.
This video really seemed like a conversation, I was hooked on your every word! Great tips, to the point and genuine. Respect, I wish you well on UA-cam and I’ll keep watching ☺️
This is so helpful! Also a 32 yr old trying to improve my channel and grow so it's nice to see someone my age doing it. Love the tips and your channel - keep it up girl!! 👏🏽👏🏽
Whewww! Thank you girl - it's crazy to say this but I'll actually be 34 next month and I'm already dipping into 'Life in my 40s' content to see what the next phase is like 🤣
@@iamjordanrhea girl you don't look it!! Now I'm gonna wait a lil bit before I explore that kind of content myself 😂lol But excited to see how your channel continues to grow!
Hey Jordan, your quality is absolutely fantastic and it's raised. The bar really really hard for me as somebody who started a UA-cam channel many years ago and kind of have never got through it. New Life I've decided to rekindle my UA-cam journey and your videos on inspiration. So yeah you have one more subscriber definitely from me you. Thank you for the inspiration and hopefully my channel can grow too in time so here's hoping keep up the great working! Thanks,
This is the most helpful video I've seen for a first-time creator on youtube. More helpful than all the ones with 100k+ views, 500k+ views, etc. Thank you for this! I love your channel!!
When I first started watching your videos I thought you had like 100k subs and the quality and information you provide it’s really valuable! Love watching you work, the behind the scenes of your agency, how you get organized🤩 this was so motivating!! I’m ready to start being consistent🫶🏼
What’s your biggest hurdle OR what’s motivating you internally to get started on UA-cam? 👀
Motivation: making life feel more like an adventure for myself, and getting to share that adventure with the world!

@@LifeWithLivz yesss! I love that perspective. I think it's the most genuine 😌

Yes indeed, everyone starts at zero. And when you first commit to the process, not the results -- everything else will fall in place! 👏🏽

Yes indeed - thank you! Every detail is so worth the effort but it's a tall mountain to climb 😅
Also currently at 500 subs and hoping to grow more as we work on the quality of our videos! 🙏🏻 Thank you for this!
Love to hear this! SAME - I'm glad I was finally able to get out of my head and start to just share the journey. We got dis 👏🏽

Sometimes we gotta circle back! 😂 I sure as heck didn’t know how to shoot at first let alone edit, prob why that footage sat for so long.
