tatay ng nieto twins naglalaro pa dito. hehe coach pa iyong tatay ni ponggay gaston. hehe i think this was francisco 's last playing year - one of the great what ifs of pinoy basketball
Si racela nung pumasok ang lakas ng ateneo, may francisco, jun reyes, alex araneta, eric reyes. Tapos early 90's nawala lahat and bigla na lang mag isa na lang syang bumubuhat sa ateneo. A
Sa pros naman, dindo totally outclassed his college rival. In fairness to back-up olsen, at least nakasabay sha kahit pano sa HS rival nya (johnny a) bec of ron jacobs. Otherwise baka naging back up din lang sha, kay pumaren naman
Dito ren ba sina limpot (dlsu) and gayoso (admu)? If so, ganda match-ups: limpot-francisco, pumaren- j. reyes, bachmann-araneta (whose fathers i think played together for dlsu), sta maria-e. reyes, cardel-gayoso Monesterio-racela (?l, mariano-chuatico (?), dinglasan (?)-sino ba enforcer sa admu nun lol Respective benches, manong derek vs fritz gaston
@Vince 1010 Yes their fathers were teammates when they won the NCAA championship in 1956. 33 years later their sons won the 1st of their back to back UAAP championships.
@Vince 1010 I believe Gayoso was suspended or was pulled out of the squad after their 2nd round loss to DLSU. They were expected to sweep the tournament but Gayoso's performance that game was allegedly questionable.
Ba't nauna dlsu kumanta ng alma mater song? Also di sinisigaw hail, hail, hail (dulo).or admu's win or lose its the school we choose lol Btw, ba't di sa araneta to? First rivalry series ng 2 sa yuap
The UAAP is not yet that big and commercialized but they've learned their lesson after this because the league finally realize how big of a deal an Ateneo-La Salle championship is.
Idol Danny Francisco!

3:51 sumakay kapa, sabi ng announcer lol
This is not the first ever televised collegiate game. Do some research

graduate the following year si Francisco at Canlas, yung iba grades ang problema kay di pwede mag laro.
First televised ba sa yuap? Wala ko makita prior videos like up's '86 championship
Looks like there's an error in the title of this video.
pumaren was outcoached by gaston. They relied too much on the iso play of dindo. While reyes totally outclassed dindo. FRancisco was the game changer.

High definition ng time na yon.
lupit ng hesi ni Coach Olsen 6:17 😈

Rookie si Limpot niyan kaya di masyadong ginamit.
Bachmann, Dinglasan, Mariano and the Pumarens are 2nd generation players.
@Vince 1010 Yes their fathers were teammates when they won the NCAA championship in 1956. 33 years later their sons won the 1st of their back to back UAAP championships.
I'm not sure if Alex Araneta is a second generation player though.

The following year it was la Salles turn to win

During the 1970's all the NCAA games were televised.
Was the premier league then. When dlsu/admu transfered sa yuap, dun na ren napunta glamour/atensyon na dala nila
@@fredtacang3624 lagi kasi rambulan nun sa NCAA after the game. Kaya lumipat Ateneo, Lasalle

You already mentioned it, rumble. I was just wondering if wala ba ganun sa yuap nun; would you know?
Itong stadium alang aircon
Ang papayat pa nila nun

Jun Reyes boasted that they're going for the grand slam the following year. La Salle spoiled it.
Ateneo could've had grandslam if Danny Francisco was able to play. After Ateneos 2nd championship, Francisco retired due to heart problems
umiyak si Dindo hehe
Alma mater hindi alma meyter.
