I honestly hoped for Domon vs Master Asia as a mecha fan for mentor vs student since their "fight" span throughout the series and not a one episode fight
Although what you said is true but sadly Jiraiya did not knew the actual reality of pain and he did not know that there were actually six paths of pain and that was the major cause of his demise and had he known the true secret of pain the outcome of that battle would've been different and Jiraiya would've easily beaten nagato, his six paths and konan without even breaking a sweat... I mean such was his strength and fear among his adversaries that even itachi and kisame were afraid of attacking Jiraiya with their combined strength..... That's master Jiraiya for you 😎
I know it's not an anime, but Shifu vs Tai Lung is still one of the best master vs student brawl to me. The fight, the choreography, the music, even the dialogue, you can feel the raw emotion emanating from both characters. Tai Lung's rage for being denied his dreams and losing the support from the man he considered his father, while Shifu slowly becomes more guilty and ashamed as he slowly accepts how prideful he was and how much he damaged his own son, however, despite this, he still has to take responsibility for his mistakes, only that it's too late for him to apologise since Tai Lung is too far long to be reasoned with. Very well done for a movie whose intended audience are children.
Jiraiya vs Pain is arguably one of the greatest fights in anime history (maybe losing only to Naruto vs Pain), and it's also an incredible studant vs mentor moment.

I would watch that in a heartbeat. I just hope that Death Note won't be added... I have seen it in many horror lists and that anime is far from horror. Itbis a thriller more than anything.
