Space Marine backpacks make great engine scoops glued on a hood without ever seeing an engine!

I think my favorite thing about gaslands is how it's such a budget friendly game. There is no official mini so you can literally build a team for 2 dollars. It's so much fun, and it's so cheap. I love it.

Addicting, isn’t it? Started out with a 3 car, 50 can team. Now I have so many I’ve needed to make multiple carrying cases and have 2 war rigs and a monster truck! Keep it up, love watching your videos for tip and tricks!

    1:64-1:72 for figures is good.

Just starting my first build now! Love the low cost entry to this game and scored a load of old car toys from my parents attic. They range from early 80s matchbox, hot wheels and corgi to some weird other brands! So amped to start playing

I just picked up a ton of hot wheels from a thrift store missing paint and looking banged up, along with a child's toy semi for under 4 bucks. I'm not even worrying about painting them except for rust spots and dirt.

I prefer working with the cheaper plastic cars over the die-cast metal. They are much easier to modify.

Fair enough. I just found the cheaper plastic cars to fragile. But to each their own.

1:64, 1:72, or 1:100 scale people will all work, but stick mainly to 1:64 or 1:72.

As far as matchbox-scale humans go, I've got some Star Wars micro machines figures that seem to be a pretty good fit. Then again, I'm sure there's a model train scale that would match well too.
And I look forward to more Gaslands videos! =)

Thanks man. When I recorded the video I actually hadn't looked it up. It turns out there's varying opinions on the matter.
I'm sure as long as it looks proper then I guess you can't argue. I think the cars themselves are a little out of scale with one another anyway so there's probably a ballpark.

Matchbox/Hot Wheels die cast cars are scaled to fit in their packaging, so the scale varies. But scale/wheel distance plays a role in speed of the cars, so you want to stay as close to 1/64 scale as possible.

There are a couple of companies that do miniatures for Gaslands, Green Miniatures/Mad Cars for example. Also check the gaslands facebook group, there is a lot of people that do 3d miniatures that fit. Also also Tamiya/Zvezda 1:72 ww2 miniatures fit aswell.

Hey an Fellow Gaslander/wargamer sup? I am doing some ideas for teams. Here’s my teams I will be doing. CFP(Crispy Fried Punks) Ghost Rider team literally. My HWP has an Police Willy Jeep. A few Crown Vic’s , and a few trucks. Myuzaki teams 1x Difters aka Initial D. Other one is anime vehicles. Oy yeah an cartoonish team, and ones with actual rat rod style figures poking out of the vehicle. I am also doing Cruella’s Car when she destroys it and goes on an Road Rage. The scale I see are Plastic green army men size for the zombie bash game scenario.

Standard green army men are way too big. I've done some searching and it turns out hot wheels are S scale. HO seems to be pretty close as well and much more accessible since It's the most common scale used for train sets.

So low level entry game eh?...And it it obvious that someone that is starting in wargaming already has all that bits and pieces already around:-)

    • @EncounterWargaming
      @EncounterWargaming 5 років тому +2

Well if you're brand new and never played anything else before I guess you won't but in all fairness you could probably buy one cheap tank or car model at any hobby store and have more than enough bits to customise your cars. So instead of $10 to get into the game it might cost you $30. Still the lowest entry barrier out of any game out there.
