Vinny's quick "Oh Boy" set this off just absolutely perfectly.
I hope they add this to the Beastcast clips playlist as a best of.

I wonder if by "no one gave me a good answer on this" Dan meant "Every time I ask my dad about this, he just gets flustered and tells me to stop thinking so hard".

Over the years I’ve seen so much hate for Dan ever since he joined the crew. Still, even to this day that continues. To me there’s no denying that Dan Ryckert is one of the best things that ever happened to Giant Bomb. And no, that’s not to downplay anyone else on GB because they’re all God-tier.
    Fight me on this.

Dan was what GB needed after losing Ryan. He had such a positively goofy personality and pushed the guys in such a "Dan" way that he gave life back to the website.

And now there's just Ben who can only enjoy things ironically and Abby. Jeff and Vinny need somebody to play off of.

Dan enjoys his heel role a little too much, though he feels a little lost when he doesn't get the pushback he requires.

I love Dan so much. On a side note why is it so common place to accept "the big bang" was the beginning of the universe and yet believing in a god that made it all is somehow ridiculous?

    • @RetroHelix
      @RetroHelix  5 років тому +20

The big bang is the most plausible scenario, because the way galaxies are moving apart strongly suggests that at some point they (or rather, the matter that created them) were all condensed in one place. Also, we can see echoes of the explosion in the background radiation of the Universe.
What caused the Big Bang, and where did all the matter at its core come from? Well, who knows. But including God in the mix adds another layer of complexity. Where did God come from? What evidence is there for His existence?
Not arguing with you. After all, this is a comment section on a Giant Bomb video. But you asked the question; just presenting what I see. I may be ignorant and wrong! We're here and then we're not; follow your path. ✌️

Because at some point we grow up and stop believing in Santa. And because most of the religions in the world were made in a time before we knew what things like lightning or storms or earth quakes were and so we had to guess and make up things. I mean think about the state of the world and human knowledge at those points in history. Plus if your going to believe in a "god" why don't you go with one of the first, Brahma from Hinduism which existed for thousands of years before Christianity was even a thing? Or maybe one from the Egyptian mythos which predates even that.
When you do some research and reading into Theology and the history of religion you'll see most of it's just a different twist on the same old story.

      @@RetroHelix Thanks for the response!
Growing up in a religious household I was always taught that evolution, the big bang & all that was nonsense. Growing up however I tend to think to myself why can't other factors be at play? Why can't God be responsible for the big bang to happen? What if instead of creating Adam & Eve (or some time thereater?) we evolved into what we are today?
Your comment made me realize how these different ideas could all be true. Who knows tho.
On a similar note I was always taught that the earth was anywhere from thousands to tens of thousands of years old. Not billions or millions like they teach in public schools. My friend told me based on how far away stars are & how fast light travels, the farthest stars away from us that we can see are like hundreds of thousands of years in the past? I don't know, difficult stuff to comprehend, but it does make you think

@@iluvutube22222Very late reply and not sure if you know this info at this point but on the star and time thing, sort of? The stars themselves are not from the past but they are at such a vast distance from us that the light we're seeing from them is millions of years old. This even happens on a smaller scale with the sun. The sun's light takes about 8 minutes to get to Earth so the sunlight we live off of every day has actually been traveling for 8 minutes before it got here. This is kind of wild to think about but that means that if the sun magically disappeared in a split second, it would still appear in the sky and give us sunlight for 8 whole minutes before it vanished because that light was already traveling to Earth.
