To explain, they didn't SEE Tobi at all. They saw the vent move and they saw Viz come from where the vent moved so they assumed it was Viz who vented. (I dont think Harry saw a vent move at all. I think he just assumed that Viz vented because Simon and Vik were stating that he vented.)
