    awesome build man huge inspiration for my build. I would put a spring on the back lever for the wheels so it isn't so aggressive when you switch. I would also make it a little bit wider? for stability? overall totally awesome man keep it up.

      When the wheels are 90⁰ they can spin freely which makes you drift. When they are in a 20⁰ or 30⁰ angle they cant spin freely so you can drive normally like a normal cart

    • @ttschabos
      @ttschabos  5 років тому +1

      Hey cbarber, that summarized the problems I encountered in this build. I further recommend to mount the motor more center-aligned to the steering axis to lessen the inertia. What also is very crucial is to ensure, that the castor wheels are orthogonal to the floor when the lever is pulled up the whole way, otherwise you wont go always in the drift mode, especially at low speeds.

    Is there anyway you can turn the wheels 180 degrees like on the crazy cart xl and How much money did you use to make it?

    • @ttschabos
      @ttschabos  6 років тому +1

      The cart can turn directly around the fronwheel, so a 180° turn is possible. I spent around 200$ for all the material. What I can recommend after the build is to use a frontwheel with more grip and to lower the seat, such that you cannot fall off so quickly.

    • @axelcastillo9648
      @axelcastillo9648 6 років тому +1

      Applied Engineering Thank you for replying. I really appreciate. Thank you for the video too. I've been wanting one but don't want to pay $700. How fast is your car? I know it depends on the motor but what speeds do you get.

    • @ttschabos
      @ttschabos  6 років тому +1

      The car makes about 18 km/h with the 350w motor. There are plenty of available motors with motor controllers on aliexpress up to 2kW. What I really recommend for higher power motors is a mechanical brake.

    • @axelcastillo9648

    can i know how you deal with the break???

    • @ttschabos
      @ttschabos  6 років тому

      I use an electrical brake, which shorts the motor over a power resistor to dissipate the energy. This only works for high speeds, since the braking power is quadratic in the EMF voltage, which is proportional to the angular speed of the motor. I would recommend a mechanical brake, which could directly be mounted on the front wheel, which would make you way more versatile at low speeds.

    • @pieceofpotato7883

    • @ttschabos
      @ttschabos  6 років тому

      :D I was just in front of the computer. You can buy everything on aliexpress for around 150$-200$, but the steel you need to buy at your local metal store.
      For the wheel you can use for example this rim here, where you can attach a sprocket and a braking disk:
      www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Aluminium-10inch-Rear-Scooter-Wheel-Rim-Aluminium-Rear-Wheel-Hub-10inch-for-Scooter-Tire-Scooter/32368040957.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.JR2E9m
      The motor is a my1016 (without z at the end -> no gearbox), which is available with different sprockets on aliexpress.

    • @ttschabos
