Joan has such a small amount of screen time in The Women. But, when she's on screen, wow! Great clips, punctuated by the shadiest shade line in movie history! 😃
Brilliant ! I believe the best thing about Joan's performance here is the inflexions she uses in her voice - They draw you in and convince you Crystal is such a vixen.
That movie was the best, in fact I'm due for my annual viewing. Crawford was fabulous of course. I read that she wanted Norma Shearer's career. As far as I can tell she was successful.
Joan stole this movie ; Roz Russell too. Norma Shearer is now mostly known by old movie buffs, while Joan's an icon, admittedly for both bad and I think increasingly good reasons.
