What Bobby said about "why were you in a relationship if you can't stay friends after" does kinda make sense. My kids mother was one of my favorite friends until we dated, now we hate each other, but since we have children, we have to talk still and maybe 60% of the time, we have fun together like we used to before dating.
I am also best friends with an ex, but I think the problem is how she treats him. She’s super manipulative and straight up insults/gaslights him in front of others all the time.

The reason its weird is because their "friendly" relationship is essentially dependent on the luck that neither one of them ever starts dating someone else.
