RIP GBD! Prayers go out to your family and friends. You will be missed by all without a doubt!
What happened to GBD? This is the first I’m hearing of anything. He always seemed like a really cool dude
We lost a real talent when we lost Chris. But he left a goldmine of UA-cam videos for us to enjoy for a lifetime. Prayers to Chris (GBD) and his family. RIP GBD. I will continue to support GDB Channel in your name🙏
I'm so sorry man. I hope your family finds comfort and knows we all knew you were a great dude who really cared.
I didn't believe it when I heard the news, RIP Chris! You were a cool dude and will be missed! Sending prayers to his friends and family. 🙏🏻
Rest in peace GBD and prayers to your family and friends your goofy ass will be missed in the CFB community
Rest easy my friend....a true, true Mountaineer. You will be missed.
I just stopped back by to rewatch your last video RIP brother
My deepest condolences to the GBD family
RIP GBD! you were one of a kind! still in shock! Prayers to your family and friends! God Bless and will miss you
Who would've thought this would've been the last time I seen GBD in a video, it's a shame I remember when I first discovered him he always seemed like a great dude, rip my guy you used to entertain most of the college football world even though most of us weren't wvu fans you were never toxic about other fanbases it all seemed like the middle ground community, hope you can see some of the games from heaven.
I'm gonna miss this man and his content. He was a daily watch for the past few years for me and he even inspired me to start my own channel at one point in time (It never worked out) We jawed back and forth a bit but I always respected the hell out of him for his hustle and grid. My heart goes out to his family.
A Big Horns Down 🤘👇 for you Chris.
Damn I’m going to miss these shows! Such an amazing guy personally and professionally
RIP Chris!
I was shocked to hear of G&B dude's passing. I found him almost 2 years ago when BYU was invited to the Big 12 and loved his show. You could count on a new video every freakin day. I didn't agree with many of his takes, but I loved the passion he had for his team and the 'speculation zone' regarding conference realignment. I am going to buy a 12 pack of Pepsi in Chris's honor. RIP good friend...
Gonna miss you GBD, I hope your family experiences the love and joy you had for the game. I know you will be watching from on high.
Ah man I loved watching you and wanted to watch so much more this upcoming season. RIP man
Man bro I promise I’m going to miss you. Discovered you during the conference realignment of 2021, got all of us through the offseason. You’ve been my favorite UA-camr ever since, it’s crazy I lost Kevin Samuels who was the best on UA-cam at what he was doing and then you who I’m my option is the best in this space on UA-cam. You’re a legend and I hope your home state of West Virginia does something to recognize you. Rest well GB Dude
GBD..... I know you'd be lighting up youtube right now if you were alive....Colorado to the Big 12!!!! we sure do miss you here!
Wish you would have been here to see all this. You were more right about all this than anyone knew. RIP.
RIP big guy. I thoroughly enjoyed your channel 🙏🏽
RIP. I enjoyed the content, you were my realignment speculation fix.
Notice how people rarely hear good things about themselves, but are praised after death. Always tell the people you love how much you love and appreciate. You just truly never know! R.I.P GB Dude! Gone way too soon!
How little we knew god rest his soul
Rip bro
It's really a shame that this is the last GBD video.
RIP Gold and Blue Dude! Saluting you with a Pepsi (diet for me).
Rest in Peace
RIP
RIP GBD...It's nice to hear your voice once last time. You will be missed.
He said he wasn't feeling the best. Little did he know....
Still missing your daily vids
UConn is going to destroy SAN DIEGO STATE!!! on April 3 2023. May God have Mercy on SDSU souls. 😞😥😞😥
One would think so. But then again back in 1984 that's what everyone was saying about Houston vs NCSU and we all know what happened then. There is a reason that they play the game. I'm just sayin'.
@@elliottcrews4997 Yep BYU Football Won the National title in football in 1984 😁😁😁
It’s still hard to believe that you’re gone
Thank you for everything! This Get it Gang guy....Cant stop crying!!! I wont be able to watch BYU VS WVU. going to gain cry that day.
Notre Dame is coming home. The Big 10
How? Who's paying the massive negotiated settlement to break the contract with the ACC?
@silbertas1996 They had multiple opportunities but they never were in the Big Ten.
ND is in the ACC except for hockey ( Big 10) and football. ND hoops stuck until 2036. I suspect they will join Conference USA before the Big 10. Why? Annual losses to Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan Wisconsin and of course USC will show how arrogant and overrated ND is
R.I.P gold and blue dude…. thank you for everything 😭
RIP GBD last video he did i know he had plans on tons of other subjects but didnt get to happen PRAYERS for his family and friends over their loss.s
GBD had almost always replied to my comments, very rare in today’s creators. I’m glad I was able to send you a GA NC bottle for you to display on your set. Godspeed GBD, we’ll see you again in Gods country.
RIP brother
RIP.
Condolences to the family of GBD. His insight and understanding of college football will be missed by all who love the sport. I wish we could hear what he would have to say about this season. My small tribute to him will be to watch every West Virginia game shown in Texas. Go VW!!!
Some commentors seem to be referencing an ESPN bankruptcy. Assuming that happens, what would that mean for the SEC and ACC deals? These are likely treated as net assets, but not sure. At worst, the SEC may have to settle for a little less. The question really is whether ESPN could provide the exposure, etc. as required by the ACC's deal and whether that would put the GOR at risk. It wouldn't be conference action that put revenue at risk.
I don't have the competency to say right now.
ESPN hasn't turned a profit for Disney in over a decade... It's more likely Disney sells ESPN if they get tired of subsidizing it's losses. In the meantime, Disney is forcing massive layoffs at ESPN to stem costs.
You bring up a good question. If ESPN does go bankrupt, that could blow up the ACC GOR. Right? Hmmmm, that springs new life for those wanting to nuke it. Also, that opens doors for the ACC to look elsewhere. I don’t know the full details of the current GOR with the ACC, but this might be mutual wishes by both parties.
If the ACC can show stability, unlike the PAC, I would think another network would pay a considerable amount more than what ESPN is paying right now. As you mentioned earlier, your best guess is that the actual value of the ACC is around 60 million per team. I could see FOX and or NBC showing interest. The ACC has proven their ability to compete on the field and with tv ratings.
I realize there’s a feeling out there, that the end game will be a P2 setup. My personal feelings only, I sure hope not. With the playoffs expanding, it allows more teams an opportunity to get a chance to make a run. Especially teams that otherwise would never get enough votes to finish in the top 4 rankings, or the top 12 in a P2 world. Teams like Ok St, Iowa St, UA, or even UNC have a greater opportunity to get in if they are not part of a P2 system. Say UNC wins the ACC, they are guaranteed to play. In a P2, there are those teams like Tenn, LSU, Florida, Penn St, USC Ect… that will always get the invite over those other teams because of name. If there are multiple teams with identical records, they’ll grab the sexiest team, not the most deserving. So I’m hoping the P2 of the SEC and the B1G never happens. The results will be the exact same teams, year in and year out that play in the playoffs.
glad i found your channel, I subbed, hope you keep making more great videos.
Rest in Peace
Already miss ya
COUNTRY ROADS 💙💛
I came across his channel around a mont ago . I just heard the news , can’t believe , devastating news .
Hugs and preyers to his family and this wonderful community from Mexico .
RIP Gold and Blue Dude , you were one of a kind and will be missed.
Heartbreaking when rewatching this at the beginning when G&B dude says he isn't feeling well. I found this channel last summer and have been hooked, G&B dude was talented and I am glad that i got be a sub, gone too soon. RIP G&B Dude you will be missed.
Hard to believe this was his last video. RIP
After all the dust settles I hope that Louisville, WV, Pitt, Cincinnati and VT wind up in a conference together.
Very interesting. Actually my 1st choice would be linear cable coverage with maybe some streaming,( especially peacock), and the Pac 12 staying together. This is Oregons best opportunity for the college playoff. Maybe almost every season.
I miss you brother. 😢
Rip 🥹
Pitt fan who discovered this channel last summer. He always kept it entertaining but I think what impressed me the most is how nice he was when dealing with obvious trolls and/or the people he had on. I think that's what kept me coming back; I just loved how accepting he was of everyone. Man, this sucks. I wish WVU would have had a great season last year now.
RIP
Rip my brother 😢
We’ll all miss you dude
NBA has officially returned to NBA next fall
Oh no! I just read a couple of the comments before I made mine. So sorry to hear this. I truly enjoyed listening to his Podcast.
You will be missed fellow BigXII brother in arms .
This is his last video RIP Gold and Blue dude.
RIP Chris...
RIP GB Dude. You will be sadly missed.
Gold and really good dude! RIP brother! Thanks for everything!
GBD, it's been 3 days since this last video. Are you ok? I'm starting to worry about you.
I have an idea. What if every ACC team agrees to put in 5 million into a pot every year. With the money being split among the two teams that make it to the ACC championship game. The winner gets 55% of the pot. The loser gets 45%. So basically each year whoever wins the ACC would get an extra 44 million and the loser would get 36 million. If you add that money with the guaranteed TV money from ESPN you could be close to the same amount that the SEC/B1G schools would make. This would make it so that all schools have some incentive to field good teams each year which in return could boost ratings.
So basically, you want the weaker ACC schools to give more $$ to Clemson and FSU.....
Isn't the chance to get into the CFP or at least play in a major Bowl game incentive enough? Are there programs purposely tanking it in the ACC?
@@kbrewski1 No, I want the lower schools to improve. I mean a rising tide lifts all boats. This is a little spark for the smaller schools. I'm only saying 5 million per school. 2.5 million from the tv deal and 2.5 million from the playoff money each confernece is going to receive when the new playoff deal is restructured. There's unequal revenue sharing in the MW (Boise gets more than the other MW schools as a result of not joining the Big East back in the 2010's). Those other schools don't like that.
Rip 😢
BTW...Commiecast is the LARGEST cable provider in the US and is in 42 states and DC
RIP brother! I remember when you first started your channel at 400 subscribers. Going to miss your videos.
💔 Rest in Peace. You will be missed my friend!
With Peacock, most events that are not on NBC or USA Air weekends on CNBC. Very few stream only. (Meaning CNBC will most likely get a few Pac 12 after dark games)
I gotta feeling that NBC is going to get the NBA because ESPN has already in shambles because of the layoffs. If they do return to NBC I’ll be enjoying watching every single game like I’m in the 1990s up to 2002.
RIP GBD! Peace and comfort to your family. See you on the other side.
Miss this dude. Boy I was looking forward to his videos every day. RIP bud. Blessings my friend. ❤️
I’m sorry GBD. R. I. P🙏🏼
I never watched his last episode until now. Wow! I wonder what he is thinking right now up in heaven looking down at us. The PAC is gone, OR/WA to the B1G, the 4 corners to the B12 and WVU at 4-1 going up against a struggling UH team coming up next. Rest in peace
It really is starting to get comical how some people think that ND is still relevant in the national college football conversation. NO ONE cares about ND anymore. Historically people gave them attention because they were forced to watch them if they wanted to see a football game on TV. Most people just want them to go away now. The free rides into the top ten and the constant talk has to stop. My God they have even created 12-team play off to try to make sure ND gets into the big show. If you think the 12-team play off wasnt thought up, developed and implemented specifically for ND then you are part of the joke....... ND will never join a conference because they know that everyone will find out just how average they are.
Nice post; Big Ten & SEC don't want ND in their conference(s), and their too proud to join a conference below their social status. Pompous, arrogant fan base that needs to be left an Independent to financially fail.
There are 40 million catholics in the United States. If 10% of them are football fans, it's a fan base of 4 million people. Keep thinking conferences and networks don't want Notre Dame. The one year they were in the ACC for the whole season, they won the conference. Just sayin
@@Packer910 It's not just Roman Catholics. They are a beloved, historic, national brand that draws viewers. Every conference would like to have them. The ACC is fortunate to have them in all sports except football, AND has part of that unique agreement conference members playing them on a rotating basis, 5(?) games a year. They can be a pain sometimes but so can UNC-CH and Clemson so it's all good. 👍
@@elliottcrews4997 "The ACC is fortunate to have them in all sports except football...."
Explain. ND's other sports are a cost to the ACC, the price paid for the football concessions.
Once this Pac12 deal gets done and realignment happens or doesn't happen, I will miss not coming here to hear GBD's take on things. So sad.
Since there will be a 12 team FB playoff, ND really has no reason to be a full member of a FB conference for the near future. But if ND decides to give up FB independence, I believe they join the B1G. Notre Dame is the only school that could make a conference a national conference and the B1G already stretches from New Jersey to California.
Let's step back a moment: all this speculation is that NBC wants a conference that only plays in the Mountain time zone (if Colorado, Utah, and the AZ schools stay) and Pacific time zones. So none of their games would begin until 3 PM Eastern. 3:30 or 4 PM high value games would be 7 pm games on the East Coast. Do you believe that NBC would put those games on the main network for 16 or 17 weeks instead of regular programming (maybe end by 11?), second tier to USA? Intriguing, but really doubtful that they would get the viewers they think they'll get, especially if ABC has their own prime-time game, with teams that the East Coast cares about.
NBC came up with the Big 10 Saturday night like Sunday night football. They are not trading USC, Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State for Cal Oregon State Washington State and Stanford
Enjoyed your videos a lot. Will miss your takes on all things collegiate
Condolences to the family. RIP Gold & Blue Dude
These off the wall ideas are interesting. At least it's not talking about Kansas going to the PAC anymore. 🙂
RIP Gold and Blue Dude
This was the first video on my recommended video list today man l am goin miss this guy
Just in case you didn’t see my last comment, they don’t make mini helmets for a lot of schools, including some larger ones including: San Diego State, Memphis, Liberty, and FAU. I know they make a lot of custom ones, like the Fresno State one you have that look pretty much identical, just a heads up.
This is not the Speculation Zone it is the Twilight Zone.
Except the Dood is a far cry from the very literate, very articulate, well spoken and linguistically precise Rod Serling. He's more like one of those Aliens from a bizarro planet himself. 🤣
Rest in Peace will miss you❤
Rest in Peace my guy!!
And with that he went home. 🤲
I miss my friend 😢
Rest easy buddy.
Lots of great insight. However, I believe there are some issues with all of this. First, will the PAC12 continue to survive without USC and UCLA? Those were two very strong marketing teams that have left. NBC can help lift what is left, but will it be enough. If the PAC12 struggles at all it will be a killer for NBC. Second, because of all the team restructing with teams leaving conferences, is there anyone that could possibly pay ND asking price/yr? I don’t think so. I’m a HUGE ND fan, but they have to be careful not to dig themselves into a hole that they can’t get out of. Third, all of the other ND sports teams are ACC. Maybe it’s about time the ND FB finally follows suit in order to keep the guaranteed yearly revenues coming in. If they can continue to dominate, especially in a conference filled with talent such as the ACC, then they will continue to do nothing but bring in more revenue for the conference and for themselves.
Seems to me that the PAC10 "only" needs to stay close enough to the new BIG12 in media per team and with enough linear to satisfy. The LHN should be dead, so why couldn't the PAC kill off its failed networks and ESPN rebrand the LHN as the PACN? The assets are already there.
Aside from the preferred path of continued independence, ND has to weigh whether they want their long time primary football rivals to be Clemson and FSU most likely, or whether it makes more sense to play Michigan, Mich St, Purdue every year like they used to, along with USC, Penn St, Ohio St etc. Obviously the geography and history weighs in the B10 favor. The easier path to CFP berths is via the ACC. ND was still playing a National schedule even while playing those 3 nearby neighbors annually. Adding USC to the B10 is what creates the uncertainty. I need to hear something officially that the NDvUSC game will continue to be played annually as usual. That game and rivalry is too important to both schools to diminish.
DUDE this great deal to get the ACC up to $65 Million would be a LOSS of $1 Million for every ACC team. LOL They are ALL getting $66 MILLION NOW (and growing) with equal revenue sharing.
I do not think Notre Dame will give up Independence but maybe NBC will make a move to get deeper involved in Football with something like this. It couldn't hurt NBC to try to have TWO games every week.
Maybe they could even get Notre Dame at HOME and AWAY by doing this... after all 2 or 3 ND games each year are part of the ESPN package with the ACC bc the Irish play 5 ACC opponents. And other ND Road games are part of ESPN's Empire too.
The NEXT deal the ACC will get is going to pay AT LEAST $85 Million IF they get a crappy deal and will more likely pay around $95 Million IF the ACC will do what I have been saying they WILL DO and SHOULD DO... and that is WITHOUT bringing in Irish Football (just keeping the rest of the ND sports in place)
I will say this though... USA is a potential GAME CHANGER and could SAVE the PAC
But ONLY IF they will pay enough and cover enough games. We will see if they do that.
But I suspect that they will not do either of those things.
Little would we know this is our last video with GBD. Rip Legend at least your with God now.
My bad Amazon has 200 MILLION subscribers not 230 million as I originally posted.
Kansas, Tulane, SDSU, UNLV, usf, Airforce, SMU, Boise St. Add those teams to the Pac 12 and call it the Gulf Pac Conference or GPAC. No more Big Lubbuck Conference or truckstop/flyover conference.
Okay, just kidding. Happy April Fools Day everyone!!
Chris gold and blue dude we just started talking over the past few months about our beloved WVU Mountaineers and I looked forward to seeing your shows,I'm in shock still that your gone..you will truly be missed so much. I felt like a member of my family has died..it cuts deep bro..rest in peace and enjoy the best seat in west Virginia..till we meet again..
RIP GBD!
Prayers to the family of GBD! So sorry for your loss, I truly enjoyed his programming.
